During that time, India began exploring B2B supplies for
modern retail, and online sales were also emerging. To
maintain the quality of the products, his team had to keep
the temperature of the products below 18 degrees
throughout the year. As a result, the company cut down
distributors, streamlined the supply chain, and improved its
efficiency.
The success of LEAP can be attributed to the strong
leadership provided by Sunu and his team of experienced
professionals. With over 25 years of business experience, he
is seasoned strategic management, marketing, sales, and
supply chain solutions professional. His educational
background, including an MBA from FMS/IIRM, SMP

warehouse that does not use ASRS requires around 100
people to run, whereas only five people can manage an
ASRS system backed by AI and ML technology.

schedules by analyzing data on traffic patterns, weather
conditions, and delivery times to ensure timely and cost-
effective delivery.

and invest in technology for their supply chain
management, they can improve their operations' efficiency
and reap greater profits, leading to greater customer
satisfaction.
To overcome these challenges, he is ensuring that LEAP
becomes a knowledge powerhouse. “We must stay informed
about the latest advancements in supply chain management
and technology and demonstrate the value of adopting
modern techniques to our customers. By positioning
ourselves as experts in the field, we can drive change in the
industry and improve our operations' efficiency.”
Also, in general, the supply chain industry is currently
facing several challenges, including:
Ÿ Supply chain disruptions: The COVID-19 pandemic has
created unprecedented disruptions, including labour
shortages, production shutdowns, transportation
restrictions, and border closures.
Ÿ Changing consumer demands: Consumer preferences
and behaviours are constantly evolving, and companies
must adapt quickly to meet these demands.
Ÿ Cybersecurity threats: The increasing use of technology
and data in supply chain operations has also increased
the risk of cyber-attacks and data breaches.
Ÿ Environmental sustainability: Companies are under
increasing pressure to reduce their carbon footprint and
adopt more sustainable supply chain practices.
Ÿ “To overcome these challenges, we need to consider the
following strategies:”

However, he believes that these challenges present
opportunities for growth and innovation. LEAP constantly
looks for ways to improve its operations through
technology-driven solutions, process optimization, or
employee training and development. They also maintain

evolving needs.
Words for the Wise
For any budding entrepreneurs out there, Sunu’s advice
would be to consider supply chain management as a
potentially lucrative industry for the next three-four
decades. Education, pharma, and supply chain are the three
fields that are expected to perform well and be the golden
roosters of any economy, particularly in India.
However, he wants to emphasize that supply chain
management is not a field that can be managed solely by
working on an Excel sheet. If you want to succeed in this
industry, you must be willing to put in 15-16 hours of work
each day to understand the current operations and how you
can incorporate new technologies or simplify processes for
the customer. You must have a keen eye for execution
because India is a vast geography, and all four regions
behave differently.
It's also important to keep up-to-date with the latest
technologies and trends in the industry to identify new
opportunities and stay ahead of the competition. In addition,
it's critical to build strong relationships with suppliers,
customers, and other stakeholders in the industry. These
relationships will be vital in helping you build a strong
reputation, gain new business, and grow your brand.
Finally, always watch the big picture and be open to new
ideas and opportunities. The supply chain industry is
constantly evolving, and successful entrepreneurs will be
those who can adapt to change and stay ahead of the curve.

of constant training and development to push my people to

Ports for almost eight years in various capacities, including
Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Commercial
controlling, Business Process Transformation and Corporate
Planning and Control. My varied roles in the port sector
have provided me with deep insights. My roles at Adani
Ports allowed me to understand the nuances of supply chain
costs and reengineer the supply chains at Adani Port’s
portfolio of ports to optimize the supply chain costs for our
customers. It led to tangible savings for our customers
while helping the Ports business grow at a healthy CAGR.
At ecubix, I focus on driving excellence through continuous
improvement. We use Kaizen-type techniques. The idea is
to do something better today compared to what we did

Considering the current industry scenario, what
challenges do you face, and how do you drive your firm
to overcome them?
We work in a technological space, and one of our biggest
challenges is resource crunch. The second challenge that
we must deal with is hyper-competition. To overcome
these challenges, we drive simplicity and process orienta-
tion in our operations and become less and less person
dependent. Moreover, we focus on minimizing hyper-
competition through product customization and long-term
client relationships. Ecubix will increasingly move towards
our software products, packages solutions and consulting
services blended by IT deployment. We are already a
CMMI level 3 certified company and aim to achieve level-
5 in the next two years.
How do you envision scaling your brand’s operations
and offerings in the future?
Ecubix stands for Reliability, Resilience, Focus and Value.
In the Supply chain space, we aim to improve our Channel
Performance Management (CPM) solution. I aspire to make
Ecubix CPM the world’s premier Channel Management
solution in the future. We also have a large business in
Smart factory solutions.
This business offers products and services for the digital
transformation of factories–manufacturing operations. We
focus on power, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas and
chemicals. With a couple of innovative products in this
sector, we aim to keep improving them over the next years
and establish them as a benchmark.
What would you advise budding entrepreneurs aspiring
to venture into supply chain management?
If India must become the third largest economy in the world
in the thirties, and if India’s supply chain costs have to
reduce to align with those in the developed nations, then
supply chain management has space for everyone.
I suggest budding entrepreneurs focus on a niche and
avoid becoming a jack of all. Instead of many mediocre
solutions, implementing niche solutions/specialization and a
focused approach to solving a particularly nagging problem
will appeal more to the market.
At ecubix, we adhere to our core expertise in one element
of supply chain management. We excel in measuring and
providing analytics of our clients’ finished product
distribution channel performance. We have deliberately
resisted the lure of getting into route optimization or
warehouse management as there are already good products
by other software companies in those spaces.
If we must deliver a larger project, we will use these third-
party products as part of our solution rather than develop
our geographical route optimization package or a Ware-
house management solution. Instead of investing in these
areas, I would invest my company’s time, intellect, energy
and money in bettering my product–Channel Performance

Sir, please tell us about your inception in India.
In 2016, FM Logistic acquired a majority stake in Spear
Logistics, one of India's key contract logistics companies.
We have spread our business over 100+ locations in India
and manage 7.0+ million square feet of warehousing space.
Currently, the company has 5000+ employees, and they
provide warehousing, omnichannel fulfilment, co-packing,
domestic transport, urban logistics operations, and supply
chain control tower services.
We serve customers in various sectors such as FMCG,
retail, beauty-cosmetics, industrial manufacturing and
healthcare industries. Teaming up with customers and
consumer partners, we aim to build responsible supply
chains. We have a strong clientele in India, including
several blue-chip Indian and multinational corporations.
How did the company evolve? What are its areas of
providing services?
Every giant company is known for its quality products and
good services that consistently make an impression on
clients. From its inception in India, FM Logistic started
operating and managed around 2.5 million sq. ft. of
warehousing space. With such relentless work, we have set
up four state-of-the-art Grade A Multi-Client Facilities
(MCF) in Farrukh Nagar (Gurugram), Bhiwandi and
Bengaluru over the years. These MFCs have multi-client,
multi-activity facilities and are in proximity to the biggest
consumption centres of the clients.
Each of these facilities has a dedicated area for co-parking
and value-added services. Currently, we offer services for
solar panels for energy generation, rainwater harvesting,
sewage treatment plant, fully insulated for energy
efficiency, drivers’ relaxations quarters, creche, training
centres and medical room.

Tell us briefly about the story of establishing your first
branch in a foreign country.
Establishing your company's presence in a foreign country
requires tenacious effort and a geographical understanding

at the first MCF in India in Farrukh Nagar in 2022.

What would you advise budding entrepreneurs aspiring to venture into supply chain management? If India must become the third largest economy in the world in the thirties, and if India’s supply chain costs have to reduce to align with those in the developed nations, then supply chain management has space for everyone. I suggest budding entrepreneurs focus on a niche and avoid becoming a jack of all. Instead of many mediocre solutions, implementing niche solutions/specialization and a focused approach to solving a particularly nagging problem will appeal more to the market. In 2016, FM Logistic acquired a majority stake in Spear Logistics, one of India's key contract logistics companies. We have spread our business over 100+ locations in India and manage 7.0+ million square feet of warehousing space. Currently, the company has 5000+ employees, and they provide warehousing, omnichannel fulfilment, co-packing, domestic transport, urban logistics operations, and supply chain control tower services. We serve customers in various sectors such as FMCG, retail, beauty-cosmetics, industrial manufacturing and healthcare industries. Teaming up with customers and consumer partners, we aim to build responsible supply chains. We have a strong clientele in India, including several blue-chip Indian and multinational corporations. How did the company evolve? What are its areas of providing services? Every giant company is known for its quality products and good services that consistently make an impression on clients. From its inception in India, FM Logistic started operating and managed around 2.5 million sq. ft. of warehousing space. With such relentless work, we have set up four state-of-the-art Grade A Multi-Client Facilities (MCF) in Farrukh Nagar (Gurugram), Bhiwandi and Bengaluru over the years. These MFCs have multi-client, multi-activity facilities and are in proximity to the biggest consumption centres of the clients. Each of these facilities has a dedicated area for co-parking and value-added services. Currently, we offer services for solar panels for energy generation, rainwater harvesting, sewage treatment plant, fully insulated for energy efficiency, drivers’ relaxations quarters, creche, training centres and medical room.   • 27. Tell us briefly about the story of establishing your first branch in a foreign country. Establishing your company's presence in a foreign country requires tenacious effort and a geographical understanding of that country. Moreover, analysing the right audience is a crucial task. Despite challenges, companies get successful, and FM Logistic is one of them. We commenced operations at the first MCF in India in Farrukh Nagar in 2022. This facility is built with international standards and is the first in India to combine FM Global and LEED Gold Certifications. The company is strategically located near the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway (Delhi), and it provides faster access to major consumption centres in the North. Not just this, the warehousing facility of that centre allows for good working conditions and sustainable execution of warehousing and distribution activities.
