6. Our Story
& Mission
Our Story
In 2008, we set out to make lives simpler and more connected, but we knew back then that we had to first
create a place that was designed to foster this great goal. A place where incredibly talented individuals are
empowered to put their best work to contribute towards our pivotal role in connecting an inclusive
India.
This book is an abbreviated encapsulation of our guiding principles. As Indus Towers continues to grow,
we hope that these principles will serve each new person joining our ranks. If you are new, welcome!
Although the goals in this book are important, it’s really YOUR IDEAS, TALENT, and ENERGY that will
keep Indus Towers shining in the years ahead.
Thanks for being here. Let’s make great things.
Company Mission
"We Transform Lives By Enabling Communication”
7. Who We
Are
About Us
Indus Towers was created with a vision to transform the telecom industry. For us, our vision is not just
Boardroom talk – it is shared by each and every Indusian across the vast geographies that we cover, and it
is this wholehearted pursuit of excellence that propels us through our transformational journey, with
exceptional results.
As India’s largest telecom tower company, Indus Towers is an enabler for the communication revolution in
India. Indus touches 600 million people every day, multiple times a day. 3 out of every 5 calls in India are
made through an Indus site. Indus is hugely increasing India’s tele-density and consequently its GDP.
(According to a study by McKinsey, every 10% increase in tele-density leads to a 1.2% increase in GDP).
Indus’ green efforts have not only benefited our customers and business partners in terms of costs, they
have also significantly reduced India’s carbon footprint. By cutting carbon emissions by 210 million liters
of diesel since 2011-12, Indus has planted the equivalent of 14 million trees. Indus has created 71,191
green sites and achieved a consolidated 99.98% uptime. But most importantly, Indus has kept India
connected even in its darkest hours, in the face of calamitous natural disasters and adversity.
We continue to strive in our endeavour of ‘Putting India First’. And we will continue to disrupt the norm to
get there.

Unique Perks
At this point, if you’ve already recruited a new teammates, chances are they are familiar with your
benefits package. However, take this opportunity to remind them of the fun stuff that makes working at
your company unique!
Can employees start clubs? Do you host a weekly all hands? What about volunteering together as a team?
Some affordable (but unique) “perks” to offer could include:
● Company sponsored membership to a meditation app
● Weekly dinners
● Hackathons
● Employee running club
● In office yoga led by an employee

Social Media Policy
In 2018, it’s highly probable that many of your new hires are on social media, and we think that’s great!
Take this opportunity to request certain usage of your company’s handle on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook
and the like. For instance - do you love when new hires share photos of swag on their first day? Encourage
team photos but don’t want any alcohol included if the company name is mentioned? This is the place to
make those requests.
A Few Tips:
● This is a great place to showcase what your company handles are on which platforms in case they
slightly deviate from your brand name.
● Include any cultural hashtags that you like using, and the links to your social profiles.

HR Contact Info

Shared Spaces
How do employees get in and out of the office? What are your office hours? Is it safe to keep computers on
desks overnight, or do you prefer that employees take them home? What about cell phones?
Cell phones and other tech
We understand that constant connectivity is an integral part of working culture today. Our only ask is that
you use your smart devices responsibly and in a way that will not distract your colleagues. Personal calls
should be taken outside or in a communal area, please.
