The document describes the CARE-ELECTRIC turbine technology, an innovative method of electric power generation and distribution using modular turbines installed in rivers. The turbines have several environmental advantages over traditional hydroelectric dams such as not flooding land, removing populations, or blocking river flows. They are also cheaper to install and operate than conventional hydroelectric systems. The turbines are controlled remotely and their installation involves lowering the generating sections into the river and manipulating deflectors and flow doors to begin rotation and energy production as water passes through.
3. The CARE–ELECTRIC technology is a
technological innovation in electric energy
generation and distribution.
- It is based on the conception on modulus which allow
for different installation combinations.
- The installed capacity depends on the local river
conditions and the water flow measured in m³ / s
- Units can be installed close to consumption point in
out of the way villages and sites or it can be connected
to energy power webs.
- The technology is 100% friendly to the environment .
4. Some of the advantages of the CARE energy
generating system.
- No land is flooded.
- No dam is erected and the river flow is not diverted.
- River side populations are not removed from their land or
homes.
- Each unit is equipped with galleries and passages for fish
and other river life.
- The water as it passes through the blades is intensely
oxygenated.
- No organic or other material is contained avoiding the
creation of gas or blocking the river bed.
- No under water fences are installed
6. - Low cost of instalation .
- The CARE technology has no restrictions with respect to the
environment especially when compared to traditional
hydroelectric generating installations .
- The cost of manufacturing and installation are significantly
less than the cost or investment in a conventional system.
Such costs can be less than 50%. Operating costs are also
much lower . Units can be totally atomized , controlled and
operated by satellite and the net.
- Manufacturing time is minimum and can vary from 6 to 12
months between the project stage and the beginning of
generation. Basic considerations are the volume to be
generated and local conditions.
7. The following demonstrates the sequence of
operations required to position the CARE
turbines in operating position.
1- The hydraulic cylinders are activated to lower the
generating sections .
2- The water rises on the up river side of the unit.
3- The deflector is elevated to provide for more pressure
by the water.
4- The flow doors are opened.
5- Beginning of rotation and generation of energy )
