Career Goal After Graduate School
My career goal after graduate school is to work in industry. Currently I wish to gain employment in either the aerospace or the defense industry. In
these industries I would like to be employed as either a structural designer or as structural analysis engineer. Long term, I am developing myself to
become employed as a senior engineer to help shape and lead the structural design team wherever I am employed. I think working in this field would
be a very challenging but highly rewarding experience.

Pursuing A Graduate Degree Essay
Pursuing a graduate degree, specifically a PhD, is a decision that was made only in the last few years. This new direction was largely based on my
recent exposure to higher education in general, but to minority women in higher education specifically. To help explain how this exposure helped to
propel my desire to pursue a graduate degree at this point in my life, I feel it's important to provide you with some background information and
context of my upbringing. My parents are immigrated from Mexico shortly after getting married. Although my father had been coming to the United
States since he was a teen to work, he did this seasonally and would return to Mexico when the agricultural season ended. After my parents married
they settled in a small agricultural town in a coastal town of California. It is in this small town that my parents raised their 6 children. Holding on to
their traditional values we were raised in a traditional manner; from a young age the girls were expected to help out in the house and contribute by
doing housework while the boys were expected to help my father which included helping out in the fields. It was in this way that my parents tried to
instill many of the same values which they had acquired in their youth growing up in Mexico. Although they wanted us to do well in school it wasn't
something that was strongly emphasized. Perhaps it was due to their limited exposure to education and the lack of educational opportunities my parent's
had growing up.

Narrative Essay About My Graduation Party
My graduation party consisted of delicious food, as well as great fun. It was a warm sunny summer day. I had just graduated from high school, so
my family and friends wanted to celebrate my achievement with me. My parents booked my party at a place not too far from my home. My
parents, my little brother, and I loaded the car with a variety of food. After we loaded the car, we took off for my party's location. Once we pulled
into the parking lot of the building I dashed into the building with arms full of pots that my mom's pulled chicken filled, relish tray, chips and dip, and
the beautiful bakery cake. My Grandma Matthias was the next one to arrive at my graduation party with her homemade loaded macaroni salad, and
chocolate covered strawberries. The next people to arrive at my graduation party was my Grandma Kathy who brought my Grandpa Terry, and my
brother Austin, as well as bringing meatballs, cookies, homemade lemonade, and iced tea. My Grandma Brad was the last person to arrive at my
graduation party, and she brought my cousin Ethan, my cousin Jack, and my Aunt Jen, as well as bringing her famous sausage and potatoes, and
beans. After a while, it was time for us to eat the amazing food that everyone made. I was very happy when it was time to eat because of the
pleasant aroma that built up in the building from all the food. I made sure to try a bit of everything except the beans because I don't really care for
beans. The first thing I tried was my mom's pulled

Prior to college, I never had GPA. The schools I attended stimulated and focused on the love of learning, not a grade. I developed a passion for the
process of learning and being curious, going beyond what is required to gain a thorough understanding. With this mindset I have approached my
undergraduate years and plan to approach my graduate school education. It is my love for education and curiosity to discover new things that keeps me
infatuated with atmospheric science. Additionally, it helps maintain my focus while faced with difficulties in both my professional and personal

Why I Want to Attend Graduate School Essay
I would like to Attend Capella University's Masters Program in School Counseling. I have always known that I wanted to work with children ever
since I can remember. Working with children is something that I have always enjoyed doing even if it was tutoring, or just being around them. The
reason I want to receive my Master's Degree in School Counseling is to become a Guidance Counselor. Being a guidance counselor you can make a
difference in a child's life, whether it's talking to them about their grades, peer pressure, or any of the things that children of all ages go through in
school and in life. The moment I knew I wanted to be a guidance counselor was at the age of 14, and attending middle school. I can remember my

The program that I was assigned to work with was the After School Program. At first I was just an assistant for the teachers, but then I became one
of the lead teachers. I helped with homework, reading, planning activities, creating the curriculum and a lot more. I stayed with the center
throughout the entire school year. When some of the kids came there they were struggling with certain subjects such as reading and math. When
they received their first report card the grades were kind of low, but after a while there grades slowly progressed and they were so excited to show
me there grades it made me so happy. It made me feel good to know that I made a difference in their lives. After I finished my needed hours for the
internship I still stayed at the center because I felt like the kids there needed me and I made a difference in their lives. I guess the director felt I
was such a huge help to the students that they decided to hire me full time. Due to lack of funding the center closed down and the students no
longer had a place to go. I still keep in contact with some of the parents and students just to see how they are doing and they all say the same thing, I
helped them stay on the right path. Every time I see one of them I know that I made a difference. I am now employed with the South Carolina
Department of Health and Human Services where I am a Medicaid Eligibility worker. I determine eligibility for

Essay about High School Graduation Day
High School Graduation Day
Many people have experienced the over whelming excitement that you feel as you approach high school graduation day, and for me, that's a day
that I will never forget. The amount of emotions that you feel on graduation day is unbelievable, and I have yet to experience anything else like it. I
can remember feeling anxious to celebrate the big day with my friends and family, while at the same time I was panicking thinking about having to
walk across the stage in front of that many people. Then, the more I thought about the reality of graduation day, I started to get curious, but nervous,
about being able to start a new chapter in my life once graduation day had passed. There are several reasons why I, still...show more content...
As the end of the night approached us, I couldn't stop thinking about how many mixed emotions I had about starting a whole new chapter in my
life. I couldn't wait to go to college, meet all new people, get a degree so that I could start my career path, but I knew that meant I had to say goodbye
to my two best friends, who were moving several hours away from me. This was one of the hardest things I had ever had to do in my life. We all cried
a little, and then made promises to keep in touch, and then we were off into the real world! I was very happy to be at this point in my life, but I was
scared deep down inside.
When I look back on this day now, I still remember every detail as if it was yesterday. I was so proud, and happy to be able to celebrate such an
amazing day with all of my friends and family. I know I will never forget how embarrassed I was walking across the stage in front of all of those
people, feeling famous after taking so many pictures, making our final memories together at our graduation parties, and then being a nervous wreck
when it was time to go out into the world without my best friends at my side. High school graduation day was a very emotional day for me, but it was
by far the most exciting day I have ever experienced in my

The Between Undergrad And Grad Essay
To someone who hasn't been through grad school, there isn't much difference between the undergrad and grad coursework. Yet this preconceived
notion could be further from the truth. Without a doubt, the level of study for a graduate program is more rigorous and demanding than study
involved at the undergrad level. I've discovered only others who are in or have completed grad school truly understand what it is like. Further insights
on how the two levels of study differ can be found below. Reading. First, while undergrad courses require reading, it barely compares to the amount
required at the graduate level. Grad school entails a tremendous amount of reading, ranging anywhere from 50–100 pages per week. And if you are
taking multiple courses, be ready to multiply that figure. The only way to accomplish it all is to realize it is near impossible to read all the
material cover to cover. Expectation that you don't read it all, but rather skim the articles and pull out main points. As a result I have learned a
different way to approach reading articles and develop an understanding of the material. Reflection. Along with the extensive reading comes a high
level of reflection of the material covered. Personally, I believe this is the paramount difference between undergrad and grad study. In undergrad you
learn what you already know and for lack of a better word regurgitate the right answer on a test and move on. In contrast, in grad school you are
searching for answers that are

Essay For Graduate Assistantship
I am writing to express my interest in the Graduate Assistantship position with CSET Advising Center at Minnesota State, Mankato. I recognize and
value the importance that a graduate assistantship has, in terms of the educational and professional benefits. It is my hope that, as a graduate student to
take this role of graduate assistant for both personal as well as professional experience.
The job description suggests that the position requires an individual with high levels of maturity and responsibility. I believe I have the required
academic qualifications, skills and experience. I am currently pursuing my Masters in urban planning at Minnesota State University, Mankato, with 4.0
GPA of my first semester. I also graduated from MSU with Bachelor's Science degree in Environmental Science with 3.2 GPA.
My academic achievements and work experience meet, if not exceed, the requirements of the position. I strongly believe my intimate knowledge of the

Successful completion of graduate school is a momentous and joyous occasion. It is the moment a graduate student has been working towards
throughout graduate school. What is important to remember is not all individuals who start graduate school will successfully complete their degree
program. Individuals that are successful know how much work and effort was needed to graduate. Graduate students make personal sacrifices to
continue their education. Attending graduate school comes with a high price. Students must commit huge chunks of time to school assignments.
Graduate students sacrifice personal time as well as time spent with family and friends. Moreover, there is the monetary cost of attending graduate

Obtaining a master's degree will open up new possibilities for an individual. However, not knowing what the future holds can be a very daunting
feeling. The feeling of what is next can loom over a person and create emotional letdown. Graduate school has allowed the individual to gain more
knowledge and insight into his or her area of study, but the person is generally the same person he or she was when they started graduate school. The
educational setting puts constant stress on students, in terms of course requirements and deadlines. Moreover, it is a setting in which a student has
the most control over what courses will be taken and how well he or she does in those courses. There are also the energy and money that have been
devoted to learning. All of that pressure is gone upon completion, but that can leave a huge void in one's life. The routine the student has been
following, for years, is no longer needed. The sudden release of pressure can create emotional letdown (Rossman, 2002).
According to research, people "are programmed to experience a variety of emotions" (Barth, 2011, para. 8). Emotional letdown can result from ongoing
pressures and the sudden release of those pressures. Individuals may be caught up in thinking about how they are supposed to act, instead of just
responding naturally. It is very common for students to have ambiguous feelings about graduation. Completing a chapter in

High School Graduation Essay
Graduation
Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of
the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and
effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the
beginning to life. I can almost remember that day like it was yesterday, I awoke like on any other school day. It was a gorgeous May morning, therays
of sun flittered through my miniblinds blinding me as if I hadn't seen light in days. I sluggishly dragged my limp body out of...show more content...
Once I was finished, I gathered up my cap and gown and my car keys and headed out the door. All the graduates had to meet in the high school library
an hour before the ceremonies started, and I promised one of my best friends Tony that we would go together. I knocked on his back door and let
myself in like I always do. All of his family members were running throughout the house trying to get ready. I asked his mom where Tony was and
she proceeded to tell me that he was in the bathroom getting ready. I tapped on the door and walked in. He was standing in front of the mirror
with his cap and gown on. He look me straight in the eyes and said," Can you believe that we are about to graduate?" I replied," No, it really hasn't
set in yet." Tony finished getting ready, and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors' cars. Tony and I
walked into the library ten minutes late like usual, and the principal had already started giving instructions. I found my place in line and then was all
ears. I couldn't help but look around at all the others. Smiles were plastered on their faces as if they had heard a hilarious joke. Once the principal
concluded his speech, the whole senior class paraded down the hallway to the commons in two uniform lines stopping just outside the gymnasium
doors. We could hear the band warming up and playing songs. All the people that were standing around me were bubbling

I Am A Graduate Student Essay
As the fall semester is quickly winding down, I often catch myself reflecting on the fact that I will be completing my second semester as a graduate
student. It certainly still is a surreal feeling for myself. I cannot even fathom the fact that I will be able to say that I have gotten through two semesters of
graduate school. The reason I bring this up is because when I first started the graduate program, I would often wonder whether I belonged in graduate
school. There was a sense of self–doubt. Therefore, I had trouble believing that I was worthy of being in this program. And, as ignorant as it may
sound, I attributed my acceptance into the program to luck and fate. I believe one major reason for feeling that way is due to the fact that I am the first
one in my family to attend college, so I felt incapable of achieving something that had never been done in my family. Furthermore, self–reflection
allows for me to reflect back on my collegiate journey and reminisce on my own personal obstacles and challenges that I have dealt with. It also
allows for me to be a more effective mentor. I see myself as a mentor who is empathic and understanding of those students who are also
first–generation college students who may be experiencing similar issues. Not necessarily only being able to be an effective mentor when working with
first generations students, rather learning new perspectives and understanding different cultural norms that can further assist me as I continue to develop

Going To Graduate School
I plan on going to go to graduate school to obtain my master degree because I feel it would benefit me in the long run. As long as my family can
handle me going on to graduate school; I will, but if it becomes to much I may have to put that part on hold. If I can get a good job with my bachelors
degree in psychology then I may not go on, but it sounds like I may need to go further to get my masters degree.
As I move on to graduate school, I believe I would like to study school counseling or education psychology. I am still in the research phase of what
exactly I need to do and where I would like to go for graduate school. I would ultimately like to stay here at Simpson and finish up my masters
program but I don't think Simpson has what I

Graduate School Goal
My goal of graduating from graduate school can be altered by world population because if the world population increases that means that there will
be more people applying to graduate school; most likely. If more people apply to graduate school, it will be harder for me to get in. The increase in
the world population would slim my chances of going to graduate school, and could alter my goal. Family type could alter my goal of going to
graduate school because if I wanted to start a family now I could. By starting a family, most of my time would be consumed by keeping up with
housework, watching the children, cooking and cleaning the house. All of these chores would keep me from spending the appropriate amount of time
studying, and focusing

Going To Graduate School Essay
I am some what apprehensive about if I want to go to graduate school. Especially for science majors graduate school is a large part of progressing
your career forward and improving your chances for other jobs. However the long and arduous process of graduate school scares me a bit,
especially because there isn't as much of flexibility as there is in undergraduate. Because of that, I really enjoyed the panelists talk about graduate
school. Yes, graduate school is as hard as I think it is. However, I should not sell myself short, I am going to UT one of the best schools in the
country and if I can make it here I can make it in graduate school. Another fear I had was that I had to go straight from four years of undergrad to

My Five Year Plan After Graduation Essay
My Five Year Plan After Graduation
Five years after graduation I plan to obtain a master's degree in law enforcement. Right now I'am really not sure what I really want to truly do for the
rest of my life. The only thing I like doing is finding clues and figuring out the criminal in mystery books.
I know that sense I like doing that, it leads me to desiring a position as a detective or something dealing with the FBI.
Im thinking that its most likely that I will go to a university. If I do, I will go to the University of Phoenix. I'm attending the University of Phoenix
for a few reasons but I'm ultimately going to the university to become a detective. I want to be successful and rich so I can have all the good things in
life. I want...show more content...
So I finally decided that I'd have to study my way out of a middle class family. I'm working hard in school because it's vital for my future. I need that
education to accomplish all of the goals that I have set out for myself. Although, my truly main goal in life is really to become a detective. You will
see why below.
Police and detectives maintain law and order, collect evidence and information, and conduct investigations and surveillance. People depend on police
officers and detectives to protect their lives and property.Law enforcement officers, some of whom are State or Federal special agents or inspectors,
perform these duties in a variety of ways, depending on the size and type of their organization. In most jurisdictions, they are expected to exercise
authority when necessary, whether on or off duty. Being a detective might be dangerous and stressful, but I'am willing to take that risk. I know that in
addition to the obvious dangers of confrontations with criminals, officers need to be constantly alert and ready to deal appropriately with a number of
other threatening situations. Many law enforcement officers witness death and suffering resulting from accidents and criminal behavior. A career in
law enforcement may take a toll on officers' private lives. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, usually at least 20 years of age, and must meet rigorous

Why Attend Graduate School
Thank you for taking the time to read my statement of purpose.
My goal in preparing to attend graduate school is to obtain a career in research and teach as an English professor with applied studies in cognitive
psychology. While I do plan on working in an academic setting, I am interested in researching how psychology and literature complement one another
and how combining the two may improve academic performance in students from underrepresented communities. I developed an interest in cognitive
function as a teenager but never thought to pursue it at the graduate level until I began studying at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. It was here
that I began majoring in English and started to really immerse myself in the academic community.

Public Administration, as a field, had always captivated me right from my undergraduate days. I believe my curiosity for this field comes from my
family. Both my father and my uncle were politicians. During my early days, I used to go to my father's office where I had a great chance to observe
different kinds of people with various jobs and interests. This was the first time I learned how mutual interests bring people together. When I
understood how public relations work naturally, it forced me strongly to study and comprehend the complex theory of politics. After finishing high

500 Word Exit Essay For College Students
The next step of our lives
You're in your last year of college about to graduate, but first, the administration tells you that a 500–word exit essay is required. They want to see how
you justify and articulate your preparation for a post–graduate world and to demonstrate final evidence of your written communication skills, but who
seriously has time for that? I personally feel like it doesn't make sense for graduates to write an exit essay on top of buying caps and gowns, preparing
for their future, and also dealing with other problems.
Even though it's just a simple task , some college students try their hardest to avoid those types of things, especially during graduation week. During
graduation week, students are looking forward the time

Graduate Study Challenges and Strategies for Personal Success
Keeping your eyes on your personal goals and professional goals is key to staying focused and obtaining them in a timely fashion. Knowing your

goals for success. This paper will discuss short term and long term goals and plans to attain them and how to overcome the...show more content...
Many obstacles were present and acted as a deterrent in obtaining in obtaining certain goals. Obstacles such as time constraints with work while
finding time to complete assignments, getting reacquainted with writing papers in the proper formats and proper wording and regaining good study
habits. The time and space between attending upper level classes was a major gap that needed to be closed and reprocessed with new habits and mind
sets.
Carter, C., Bishop, J., and Kravits. S.L. (2011), states some habits used for success throughout the school term are, to stay ahead of the assignment
deadlines, develop good study habits and with more practice, the habits become simpler to apply no matter what the situation and eventually will
become an essential part of how to operate in school, work, or personal life. A milestone for reaching a long termgoal is accomplishing and completing
the enrollment process for graduate school, and advancing through the first semester to pursue a Master's degree in nursing/ Education.
Writing a paper is a great weakness, especially since there have been such a huge gap in between school attendance. This weakness relates to personal
communication. Strengths and weaknesses must be used to improve goals as it relates to personal communication while accomplishing achievements.

My Career Goal After Graduate School in Aerospace or Defense

  • 1. Career Goal After Graduate School My career goal after graduate school is to work in industry. Currently I wish to gain employment in either the aerospace or the defense industry. In these industries I would like to be employed as either a structural designer or as structural analysis engineer. Long term, I am developing myself to become employed as a senior engineer to help shape and lead the structural design team wherever I am employed. I think working in this field would be a very challenging but highly rewarding experience. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Pursuing A Graduate Degree Essay Pursuing a graduate degree, specifically a PhD, is a decision that was made only in the last few years. This new direction was largely based on my recent exposure to higher education in general, but to minority women in higher education specifically. To help explain how this exposure helped to propel my desire to pursue a graduate degree at this point in my life, I feel it's important to provide you with some background information and context of my upbringing. My parents are immigrated from Mexico shortly after getting married. Although my father had been coming to the United States since he was a teen to work, he did this seasonally and would return to Mexico when the agricultural season ended. After my parents married they settled in a small agricultural town in a coastal town of California. It is in this small town that my parents raised their 6 children. Holding on to their traditional values we were raised in a traditional manner; from a young age the girls were expected to help out in the house and contribute by doing housework while the boys were expected to help my father which included helping out in the fields. It was in this way that my parents tried to instill many of the same values which they had acquired in their youth growing up in Mexico. Although they wanted us to do well in school it wasn't something that was strongly emphasized. Perhaps it was due to their limited exposure to education and the lack of educational opportunities my parent's had growing up. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Narrative Essay About My Graduation Party My graduation party consisted of delicious food, as well as great fun. It was a warm sunny summer day. I had just graduated from high school, so my family and friends wanted to celebrate my achievement with me. My parents booked my party at a place not too far from my home. My parents, my little brother, and I loaded the car with a variety of food. After we loaded the car, we took off for my party's location. Once we pulled into the parking lot of the building I dashed into the building with arms full of pots that my mom's pulled chicken filled, relish tray, chips and dip, and the beautiful bakery cake. My Grandma Matthias was the next one to arrive at my graduation party with her homemade loaded macaroni salad, and chocolate covered strawberries. The next people to arrive at my graduation party was my Grandma Kathy who brought my Grandpa Terry, and my brother Austin, as well as bringing meatballs, cookies, homemade lemonade, and iced tea. My Grandma Brad was the last person to arrive at my graduation party, and she brought my cousin Ethan, my cousin Jack, and my Aunt Jen, as well as bringing her famous sausage and potatoes, and beans. After a while, it was time for us to eat the amazing food that everyone made. I was very happy when it was time to eat because of the pleasant aroma that built up in the building from all the food. I made sure to try a bit of everything except the beans because I don't really care for beans. The first thing I tried was my mom's pulled Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I developed a passion for the process of learning and being curious, going beyond what is required to gain a thorough understanding. With this mindset I have approached my undergraduate years and plan to approach my graduate school education. It is my love for education and curiosity to discover new things that keeps me infatuated with atmospheric science. • 5. Why I Want to Attend Graduate School Essay I would like to Attend Capella University's Masters Program in School Counseling. I have always known that I wanted to work with children ever since I can remember. Working with children is something that I have always enjoyed doing even if it was tutoring, or just being around them. The reason I want to receive my Master's Degree in School Counseling is to become a Guidance Counselor. Being a guidance counselor you can make a difference in a child's life, whether it's talking to them about their grades, peer pressure, or any of the things that children of all ages go through in school and in life. The moment I knew I wanted to be a guidance counselor was at the age of 14, and attending middle school. I can remember my guidance...show more content... The program that I was assigned to work with was the After School Program. At first I was just an assistant for the teachers, but then I became one of the lead teachers. I helped with homework, reading, planning activities, creating the curriculum and a lot more. I stayed with the center throughout the entire school year. When some of the kids came there they were struggling with certain subjects such as reading and math. When they received their first report card the grades were kind of low, but after a while there grades slowly progressed and they were so excited to show me there grades it made me so happy. It made me feel good to know that I made a difference in their lives. After I finished my needed hours for the internship I still stayed at the center because I felt like the kids there needed me and I made a difference in their lives. I guess the director felt I was such a huge help to the students that they decided to hire me full time. Due to lack of funding the center closed down and the students no longer had a place to go. I still keep in contact with some of the parents and students just to see how they are doing and they all say the same thing, I helped them stay on the right path. Every time I see one of them I know that I made a difference. I am now employed with the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services where I am a Medicaid Eligibility worker. • 6. Essay about High School Graduation Day High School Graduation Day Many people have experienced the over whelming excitement that you feel as you approach high school graduation day, and for me, that's a day that I will never forget. The amount of emotions that you feel on graduation day is unbelievable, and I have yet to experience anything else like it. I can remember feeling anxious to celebrate the big day with my friends and family, while at the same time I was panicking thinking about having to walk across the stage in front of that many people. Then, the more I thought about the reality of graduation day, I started to get curious, but nervous, about being able to start a new chapter in my life once graduation day had passed. There are several reasons why I, still...show more content... As the end of the night approached us, I couldn't stop thinking about how many mixed emotions I had about starting a whole new chapter in my life. I couldn't wait to go to college, meet all new people, get a degree so that I could start my career path, but I knew that meant I had to say goodbye to my two best friends, who were moving several hours away from me. This was one of the hardest things I had ever had to do in my life. We all cried a little, and then made promises to keep in touch, and then we were off into the real world! I was very happy to be at this point in my life, but I was scared deep down inside. When I look back on this day now, I still remember every detail as if it was yesterday. I was so proud, and happy to be able to celebrate such an amazing day with all of my friends and family. I know I will never forget how embarrassed I was walking across the stage in front of all of those people, feeling famous after taking so many pictures, making our final memories together at our graduation parties, and then being a nervous wreck when it was time to go out into the world without my best friends at my side. High school graduation day was a very emotional day for me, but it was by far the most exciting day I have ever experienced in my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The Between Undergrad And Grad Essay To someone who hasn't been through grad school, there isn't much difference between the undergrad and grad coursework. Yet this preconceived notion could be further from the truth. Without a doubt, the level of study for a graduate program is more rigorous and demanding than study involved at the undergrad level. I've discovered only others who are in or have completed grad school truly understand what it is like. Further insights on how the two levels of study differ can be found below. Reading. First, while undergrad courses require reading, it barely compares to the amount required at the graduate level. Grad school entails a tremendous amount of reading, ranging anywhere from 50–100 pages per week. And if you are taking multiple courses, be ready to multiply that figure. The only way to accomplish it all is to realize it is near impossible to read all the material cover to cover. Expectation that you don't read it all, but rather skim the articles and pull out main points. As a result I have learned a different way to approach reading articles and develop an understanding of the material. Reflection. Along with the extensive reading comes a high level of reflection of the material covered. Personally, I believe this is the paramount difference between undergrad and grad study. In undergrad you learn what you already know and for lack of a better word regurgitate the right answer on a test and move on. In contrast, in grad school you are searching for answers that are Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 9. Successful completion of graduate school is a momentous and joyous occasion. It is the moment a graduate student has been working towards throughout graduate school. What is important to remember is not all individuals who start graduate school will successfully complete their degree program. Individuals that are successful know how much work and effort was needed to graduate. Graduate students make personal sacrifices to continue their education. Attending graduate school comes with a high price. Students must commit huge chunks of time to school assignments. Graduate students sacrifice personal time as well as time spent with family and friends. Moreover, there is the monetary cost of attending graduate school. After paying such...show more content... Obtaining a master's degree will open up new possibilities for an individual. However, not knowing what the future holds can be a very daunting feeling. The feeling of what is next can loom over a person and create emotional letdown. Graduate school has allowed the individual to gain more knowledge and insight into his or her area of study, but the person is generally the same person he or she was when they started graduate school. The educational setting puts constant stress on students, in terms of course requirements and deadlines. Moreover, it is a setting in which a student has the most control over what courses will be taken and how well he or she does in those courses. There are also the energy and money that have been devoted to learning. All of that pressure is gone upon completion, but that can leave a huge void in one's life. The routine the student has been following, for years, is no longer needed. The sudden release of pressure can create emotional letdown (Rossman, 2002). According to research, people "are programmed to experience a variety of emotions" (Barth, 2011, para. 8). Emotional letdown can result from ongoing pressures and the sudden release of those pressures. Individuals may be caught up in thinking about how they are supposed to act, instead of just responding naturally. It is very common for students to have ambiguous feelings about graduation. • 10. High School Graduation Essay Graduation Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the beginning to life. I can almost remember that day like it was yesterday, I awoke like on any other school day. It was a gorgeous May morning, therays of sun flittered through my miniblinds blinding me as if I hadn't seen light in days. I sluggishly dragged my limp body out of...show more content... Once I was finished, I gathered up my cap and gown and my car keys and headed out the door. All the graduates had to meet in the high school library an hour before the ceremonies started, and I promised one of my best friends Tony that we would go together. I knocked on his back door and let myself in like I always do. All of his family members were running throughout the house trying to get ready. I asked his mom where Tony was and she proceeded to tell me that he was in the bathroom getting ready. I tapped on the door and walked in. He was standing in front of the mirror with his cap and gown on. He look me straight in the eyes and said," Can you believe that we are about to graduate?" I replied," No, it really hasn't set in yet." Tony finished getting ready, and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors' cars. Tony and I walked into the library ten minutes late like usual, and the principal had already started giving instructions. I found my place in line and then was all ears. I couldn't help but look around at all the others. Smiles were plastered on their faces as if they had heard a hilarious joke. Once the principal concluded his speech, the whole senior class paraded down the hallway to the commons in two uniform lines stopping just outside the gymnasium doors. We could hear the band warming up and playing songs. All the people that were standing around me were bubbling Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. I Am A Graduate Student Essay As the fall semester is quickly winding down, I often catch myself reflecting on the fact that I will be completing my second semester as a graduate student. It certainly still is a surreal feeling for myself. I cannot even fathom the fact that I will be able to say that I have gotten through two semesters of graduate school. The reason I bring this up is because when I first started the graduate program, I would often wonder whether I belonged in graduate school. There was a sense of self–doubt. Therefore, I had trouble believing that I was worthy of being in this program. And, as ignorant as it may sound, I attributed my acceptance into the program to luck and fate. I believe one major reason for feeling that way is due to the fact that I am the first one in my family to attend college, so I felt incapable of achieving something that had never been done in my family. Furthermore, self–reflection allows for me to reflect back on my collegiate journey and reminisce on my own personal obstacles and challenges that I have dealt with. It also allows for me to be a more effective mentor. I see myself as a mentor who is empathic and understanding of those students who are also first–generation college students who may be experiencing similar issues. Not necessarily only being able to be an effective mentor when working with first generations students, rather learning new perspectives and understanding different cultural norms that can further assist me as I continue to develop Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Going To Graduate School I plan on going to go to graduate school to obtain my master degree because I feel it would benefit me in the long run. As long as my family can handle me going on to graduate school; I will, but if it becomes to much I may have to put that part on hold. If I can get a good job with my bachelors degree in psychology then I may not go on, but it sounds like I may need to go further to get my masters degree. As I move on to graduate school, I believe I would like to study school counseling or education psychology. I am still in the research phase of what exactly I need to do and where I would like to go for graduate school. I would ultimately like to stay here at Simpson and finish up my masters program but I don't think Simpson has what I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Graduate School Goal My goal of graduating from graduate school can be altered by world population because if the world population increases that means that there will be more people applying to graduate school; most likely. If more people apply to graduate school, it will be harder for me to get in. The increase in the world population would slim my chances of going to graduate school, and could alter my goal. Family type could alter my goal of going to graduate school because if I wanted to start a family now I could. By starting a family, most of my time would be consumed by keeping up with housework, watching the children, cooking and cleaning the house. All of these chores would keep me from spending the appropriate amount of time studying, and focusing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Going To Graduate School Essay I am some what apprehensive about if I want to go to graduate school. Especially for science majors graduate school is a large part of progressing your career forward and improving your chances for other jobs. However the long and arduous process of graduate school scares me a bit, especially because there isn't as much of flexibility as there is in undergraduate. Because of that, I really enjoyed the panelists talk about graduate school. Yes, graduate school is as hard as I think it is. However, I should not sell myself short, I am going to UT one of the best schools in the country and if I can make it here I can make it in graduate school. • 15. My Five Year Plan After Graduation Essay My Five Year Plan After Graduation Five years after graduation I plan to obtain a master's degree in law enforcement. Right now I'am really not sure what I really want to truly do for the rest of my life. I'm attending the University of Phoenix for a few reasons but I'm ultimately going to the university to become a detective. I want to be successful and rich so I can have all the good things in life. I want...show more content... So I finally decided that I'd have to study my way out of a middle class family. I'm working hard in school because it's vital for my future. I need that education to accomplish all of the goals that I have set out for myself. Although, my truly main goal in life is really to become a detective. You will see why below. Police and detectives maintain law and order, collect evidence and information, and conduct investigations and surveillance. People depend on police officers and detectives to protect their lives and property.Law enforcement officers, some of whom are State or Federal special agents or inspectors, perform these duties in a variety of ways, depending on the size and type of their organization. In most jurisdictions, they are expected to exercise authority when necessary, whether on or off duty. Being a detective might be dangerous and stressful, but I'am willing to take that risk. I know that in addition to the obvious dangers of confrontations with criminals, officers need to be constantly alert and ready to deal appropriately with a number of other threatening situations. Many law enforcement officers witness death and suffering resulting from accidents and criminal behavior. A career in law enforcement may take a toll on officers' private lives. My goal in preparing to attend graduate school is to obtain a career in research and teach as an English professor with applied studies in cognitive psychology. While I do plan on working in an academic setting, I am interested in researching how psychology and literature complement one another and how combining the two may improve academic performance in students from underrepresented communities. I developed an interest in cognitive function as a teenager but never thought to pursue it at the graduate level until I began studying at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. It was here that I began majoring in English and started to really immerse myself in the academic community. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Public Administration, as a field, had always captivated me right from my undergraduate days. I believe my curiosity for this field comes from my family. Both my father and my uncle were politicians. During my early days, I used to go to my father's office where I had a great chance to observe different kinds of people with various jobs and interests. This was the first time I learned how mutual interests bring people together. When I understood how public relations work naturally, it forced me strongly to study and comprehend the complex theory of politics. • 18. 500 Word Exit Essay For College Students The next step of our lives You're in your last year of college about to graduate, but first, the administration tells you that a 500–word exit essay is required. They want to see how you justify and articulate your preparation for a post–graduate world and to demonstrate final evidence of your written communication skills, but who seriously has time for that? I personally feel like it doesn't make sense for graduates to write an exit essay on top of buying caps and gowns, preparing for their future, and also dealing with other problems. Even though it's just a simple task , some college students try their hardest to avoid those types of things, especially during graduation week. During graduation week, students are looking forward the time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
