Parents to Take Responsibility for Childhood Obesity A Position Paper Cassandra Eisengart Waynesburg University Purpose The purpose of this
statement is to express my position in regards to the ongoing issue in America of childhood obesity and whether or not parents are to blame for this
ongoing trend. Statement of Position As a nurse, I take the position that parents are to be blamed for childhood obesity and it is our nation's
responsibility, particularly as healthcare workers, to educate parents and children so that we can decrease and eventually eliminate obesity in America.
History/Previous Position Statements The ANA is on board to support First Lady Obama in her stance against...show more content...
Understandably, it can be hard for parents to make the right choices with their child in mind because the cost of heating healthy is not cheap. Also,
convenience and availability of things such as pizza and McDonalds becomes luring after a busy day at work. Parents need more support and
education from healthcare workers in order to be knowledgeable enough to make the right decisions for themselves and for their children. This has
to begin early in life as a new mother and continue on into childhood. The government also needs to step in with schemes to make healthy food
choices more affordable and more available. I believe that eating healthy needs to start at home but it also needs to be brought into the schools as
well. Sedentary lifestyle has become such a problem for children these days. When I was younger, I remember on the weekends my parents telling
me if I was going to have friends over we had to play outside. I remember staying out until 8 or 9 playing games outside with the neighbors up the
street. I even remember my sister and I keeping ourselves occupied with games such as hopscotch and we spent afternoons swimming in our pool for
hours. When you drive through neighborhoods today, where are all of the kids at? Kids are so consumed with technology such as cell phones and
television that they hardly even realize that playing outside is something that used to be fun. According to the Neilsen Company, kids today

Committee: GA fourth committee– Special, Political and Decolonization (SPECPOL)
Topic: The question of self determination for non– sovereign regions seeking to exercise substantial autonomy– The Kashmir story.
Country: Sudan
Delegate: Divya Shetty, Manipal University
The Kashmir dispute dates from 1947. The partition of the Indian sub–continent along religious lines led to the formation of India and Pakistan.
Because of its location, Kashmir could choose to join either India or Pakistan. Pakistan fails to recognize the Instrument of Accession signed by
Maharaja Hari Singh on October 26, 1947 ceding Kashmir to India as they believe it was signed for the sole purpose of military assistance. Many wars
have been...show more content...
A simultaneous referendum was supposed to be held in Abyei on whether to become part of Southern Sudan but it has been postponed due to conflict
over demarcation and residency rights. Perhaps no area is more volatile and carries more implications for Sudan's future than the oil rich region of
Abyei, Sudan's "Kashmir"–astride the boundary between North and South roughly 500 miles southwest of Khartoum. There lies one of the most
potent of tripwires in all of Sudan. If the political crisis regarding Abyei is addressed, there is potential for peace in the entire country. If it is
mishandled, it dramatically increases the possibility that Sudan's current conflicts, from Darfur to the South to the East, will explode over the coming
few years into a national war with regional implications and historically devastating repercussions for its people.
Sudan is an ally of India and feels that Kashmir is an integral part of India. If all Kashmiris return to Kashmir and if the government of India gives
them what they are demanding (right to self determination) then Kashmir is very likely to end up in the same mess that it is in today. The Hindu's,
Buddhists and many Shia Muslims will want to remain with India and the remaining population might want independence or be a part of Pakistan.
What Kashmir needs are real leaders who understand the art of compromise and can get the best deal possible for their

Plagiarism Research Paper
Plagiarism is a serious offense and a growing trend in our society today. Some may associate plagiarism with the idea of taking someone else's writing
and making it their own. In fact plagiarism involves anything that is copied or taken and said to be of your own work. Dictionary.com defines
plagiarism as "the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own
original work, as by not crediting the author". In fact this definition covers all types of cheating and misrepresentation of ones own work. There are
many numbers and statistics that can be found on the amount of individuals that have admitted to cheating. Perhaps the most astounding number is one
that was...show more content...
According to Martin (2006), "the main cause of plagiarism is that this era of specialization getting in to reputable institutions of learning especially
higher learning is getting difficult and tough (p. 3)." Because of the grueling process of entrance essays, applications to major universities, and weekly
paper assignments, students feel as if there is a high standard set for them. They are unable to reach the demand level of higher education; therefore,
they feel the need to use someone else's work. For the most part, everybody wants to get accepted into a prominent institution for higher learning
and do well for themselves, as well as their families. There are enormous amounts of people who work their tails off to accomplish this grueling
task; others choose to take the easy way out. Some get caught, others do not, but those who do plagiarize will have to live with that feeling of
cheating and dishonesty for the rest of their lives. Some also believe that students cheat because they are lazy and the task of writing and doing their
own work is to time consuming, both of these statements are true. Individuals are lazy, let's be honest, would you rather lie on the couch and relax, or
write a term paper? Also, writing is time consuming, it takes multiple hours of research and paper development before you are confident enough to
submit your work and put your name on something that is going to be graded by a highly educated teacher or professor.

The first of SABIC's businesses to begin actual production was HADEED, which began producing steel products in 1982. In 1983, SABIC opened its
new headquarters in Riyadh, and from that time SABIC expanded through various industries over various countries.
SABIC went public in 1984, although the Saudi government maintained a 70 percent stake in the company, and its shareholder base was restricted to
Saudi and other citizens in the GCC countries only. The newly public company began its first marketing efforts, with access to Saudi Arabia's huge
gas reserves, SABIC was able to enter the market with some of the lowest feedstock costs in the industry. Indeed, SABIC's arrival forced a shift among
the industry's previous major players, many of which moved farther downstream in petrochemicals production, while others exited a number of markets
entirely. At the same time, the company's Gulf location placed it close to both European and, especially, fast growing Asian markets.
SABIC's production was 6.5 million metric tons in 1985. Five years later production rose to 13 million tons; by 2003 production had risen to 42
million metric tons; it reached 56 million metric tons in 2008 and it is planning to raise its production to over 130 million tons by 2020 through various
strategies such as local expansions, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
