Branscombe, 2012). I would not say that the characters in the movie took this idea as far as the text explains, but there were many examples of
this happening. The first example would be between the coaches. Coach Boone was given Coach Yoast's coaching position, and offers him an
assistant position for the team. Coach Yoast accepts the position, only for his players, but ensuring that his old assistant gets a job as well. Now that
the teams have integrated, there really is not enough room for all the coaches, and it seems like each group is looking out for their 'own.' Coach
Boone also has his assistant working with him, so now this makes four different coaches for T.C. William's football team. With all of this happening
the two white coaches and the two black coaches are not 100% getting along. They do not agree with one another's ideas and have clear prejudices

In the movie "Remember the Titans" there are many lessons that every person should learn in their life. One of the most important lessons is that of

It seemed impossible for these two players to become friends and forget about their racism. The closer they became the more they forgot about their
differences and the more they defended their friendship. They were too determined to let their teammates hold them back.
When Gerry and Julius considered themselves brothers they realized how much they meant to each other and they were so honored and proud to be
a true friend to each other. This was unthinkable, but the problem being that if they wanted to play football they had to overcome these hurdles

It was a challenge because he had to make his team forget the segregation and prejudice around them and play football with respect for each other, as
friends. In the end, the players did come together as a team, but the world tried to tear them apart. This movie is about defying tradition and doing
what is right. The players and the coaches too, had to forget what they had been taught since they were children, and treat those of a different race as

I think that this movie shows one of the many historical events that took place in the U.S. during the 20th century that led to peace, as it is today,

order to achieve victory. In 1970, the Supreme Court ruling in Swann v Charlotte–Mecklenburg Board of Education permits busing students to achieve
racial integration in public schools. In 1971, T. C. Williams High Schoolhires successful, black coach, Herman Boone as head coach to lead the school's
newly integrated football team, depriving Bill Yoast, former head coach and nominee for the Virginia High School Hall of Fame, of the head coach

In the beginning of the film there was a lot of hatred towards each race as the whites and blacks didn't get along well with each other, little did they
know that they would both be put on the same football team and have to participate in a camp if they were serious about joining the team. The
person that they were sitting next to in the bus was the person they would be bunking with for the next two weeks and it happened that both Gerry
and Julius were both in the same room. The issue that started the conflict between the two was Julius had hung a "black people power" poster on
the wall which Gerry found intimidating. This resulted in Gerry attempting to remove the poster with force. This is what sparked the fight between

The people who hired him said that they didn't even think that he would have made it out of camp. The football teams love lived on and they stuck
together for their first win. As a victory the quarterback who everyone called Sunshine tried to take a few black teammates to dinner. The owner
refused service and that was the beginning of them falling apart all over again. The team calls their own meeting trying to get back together,
although they are undefeated they weren't playing well and they knew that wouldn't work for long. On a major game referees were bribed to call
multiple penalties against the Titans, but Coach Yoast knew what they were doing and said he would go to the papers. Turns out they were trying
to get Coach Yoast back at the head job and forget about Boon. After a major victory the team captain is involved in a major car wreck and was
paralyzed from the waist down. Even though they lost a lot they went on and won the state title. The movie ends at the paralyzed players funeral a
few years later. They all came back for it and were reminded of the Titans. The historical significance in this movie had to have been all the

In 1971 Coach Herman Boone replaced a popular, successful white coach at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia, in that community's
effort to finally integrate its schools. The school and community were angrily divided by the federal integration order, and the volatility of the
situation was heightened by the abrupt demotion of Coach Yoast and Boone's promotion to Head Coach. In this movie Coach Boone is on a mission
to try to get the white and black players to unite and play together as a team. He wanted the two races to become a team. Around that time, there was

This team actually started becoming a team after Coach Boone gave an inspiring speech at the graveyard in Gettysburg. That is when a team
actually started to form. The speech was about the Civil War that happened at Gettysburg. He told the players to hear closely, because if they do,
they can hear people saying things about killing their own brothers. He told the players that they have to stop fighting with one another and start
thinking of each other as brothers and come together as a team and start seeing life in a different perspective. After that, they had plenty of
practices and worked hard until they learned how to get along, and they finally did that. It was beautiful to watch them get along and become a
team. They were becoming friends and would joke with one another in the locker rooms. Mostly everyone get along. Julius and Gary were
becoming great friends, which was hard to believe, because they hated each other at first. Later on, they got a new player. He had long hair, and
they called him "Sunshine". He was a quarterback and was the newest player on the mighty Titans. The team thought he was gay but he really
wasn't. The team was ready to come back home after all the hard practices at camp. The town still didn't accept the fact that these two races were

Remember The Titans Essay In the movie "Remember the Titans" by "Boaz Yakin" the character Herman Boone, played by "Denzel Washington", is
faced by a difficult challenge that is significantly important to the movie. Boone in a sense faces a challenge of acceptance in which, by the end of the
movie, he has experienced in two noticeable ways. Boone faces the challenge of being accepted by the community, revealing to us that he wants the

There are avid examples of the work he does with the football team to illustrate these principal ideas. When the members of the football team all
prepared to leave for camp, they boarded the two busses according to their color and clearly did not want have anything to do with each other.
Coach Boone outraged by a comment from Gerry Bertier calls all the players to the front of the busses. He orders them to pair up according to their
positions on the football field, accomplishing team unity and overcoming the first obstacle in getting the boys to work together. Also of interest are
the responses of the player's parents when they return from camp. They are surprised to see how Coach Boone has changed them. The parents are
still prejudiced however their children have changed once again illustrating that Coach Boone, although he had not yet been accepted by the
community he managed to get the boys to work together. He had overcome his challenge. Boone fights for the acceptance, respect and unity of his
team proving that school integration, and the black and white players can work together. By the end of the movie there are bonds formed between
Bonne and both the black and white player of The Titans. These bonds are important as we as the audience understand that Boone has gained the
acceptance and respect of Coach Yoasts team. In the first instance before the camp Gerry Bertier claimed that "he could not play with these animals",
