Accountable for I&E design engineering, project management and supervision of projects, including the
following:-
Baker Hughes and Schlumberger off-shore electrical submersible pumps (ESP’s) and progressing cavity
pumps (PCP’s) with sub-sea cabling and MV switchgear including all related Instrumentation and Control
systems design.
Off-shore supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, fibre optics, sub-sea cabling
systems, electric power generators, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and SCADA for production and
water injection well hook-ups in various fields.
MCC’s up to 4160V for gas and water injection plant in various process areas.
I&E Upgrades of Solar and Pignone (DCS/ESD and I&E) turbines on offshore gas injection platforms.
New and upgrade I&E scopes for Metering Skids, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Plants, Air Skids, Oil
and Crude Heaters, Strainers, Transfer Pumps, Gas Scrubbers, Crude Receiving and Blending, Jet Fuel
Storage, Tank Farm, Mud Plant and Oil Treating.
PLC-based PCS and DCS and SIS ESD SIL 2 hardware systems.
New and replacement MV switchgear and 460kW and 230kW gas driven power generators
Currently involved in the concession’s souring fields by decommissioning and demolishing all existing H2S
and F&G systems and developing a new I&E design for the intended replacement of all the H2S and Fire
and Gas systems on 15 gas injection/water injection/gathering station platforms and well jackets .
Pneumatic, E&I engineering and design of Oil producer and Water injection well hook ups.
I&E Engineering and design of H2S monitoring and alarms systems for various off-shore platforms.

1999 - 2000 Instrument Lead Design Engineer

Responsible for Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Design Engineering of a new crude furnace – the
largest process (furnace) unit in Africa – including three new de-salters.
Demolishing of existing furnace and redundant de-salter whilst compiling the entire design for the Relay
Logic Conversion to Honeywell FSC (ESD).
Utilising DCS systems, Honeywell process manager and General Electric ESD (FSC) PLC’s.
1997 - 1999 Instrument Engineer

Tasked to determine the conceptual scope of projects through to the final instrument engineering scopes,
the design of the project’s instrumentation and control system loop diagrams, instrument and
commissioning indexes, specifications. This included, procurement, inspections, coordination, data
sheets, drawing layouts and schedules; utilising the Honeywell TDC 3000 HPN system
Leading role in a two-year Purification Plant, Alpha Olefins project conducted on behalf of Sasol Group of
Companies.
