 Managing the European Union (EU), GRZ and Students funded accounts for the institution
 Cashiering, receipting, managing petty cash requests, payment vouchers, purchase orders, daily cash summaries,

 Preparing monthly bank reconciliation statements, writing of cheques and backing sheets for the organisation’s

in order to achieve its vision
 Preparing monthly variance reports, updating and recording of transactions in the cash books and student ledger
accounts; maintenance and updating of the institution’s asset register
 Ensuring that the institution’s suppliers and other stakeholders are paid on time and correctly ; and that all

 Ensuring that funds owed to the institution (mostly from the students and applicants) are timely collected and
properly recorded in the institution’s books of accounts
Page 2
 Adhering to the institutions policies and work culture, such as, the seeking of adequate approval for all payments
and requests, and always ensuring that any accounting and related information is reported in time to the
immediate superior or authority
Achievements:
 Directed implementation of state –of-the art accounting methods and procedures resulting in more
efficiency and accuracy such that we were able to process more transactions in less time
 Oversaw the accounts payables effectively resulting in less delayed payments and complaints such that
our suppliers were paid in time, making them more willing to do business with the institution
 Through our team work, hard work and innovation the head accountant in our department was voted
best employee of the year 2014
Manager – Sales and Marketing 2004-2005
Working in a busy shop selling fashion clothes, it was my duty to ensure that our products were well marketed
and that the set sales targets were achieved. In this period I learnt how to be financially accountable and
innovative in order to grow the business. Good customer relations and business management are also part of the
skills I developed.
Achievements:
 When I took over, I managed to revive the business when its customer base was quickly reducing and
turned it into a more profitable and viable operation
 Increased the product range and monthly sales by over 30%, all this came about through paying attention
to client needs, understanding the market, improved quality, change of business location, knowing and
understanding our competitors, consistency in business operating times and good customer relations
 Managed to reduce running costs by 20% (on average) during challenging periods to still make the
business profitable and viable, as fashion clothes business is usually seasonal and dynamic.
Head – Procurement/Stores – Sancta Maria Catholic Church - 2010
During this year I was in charge of procurement and storehouses both for the parish and main house, while still in
the seminary, in Lukulu in the Western province of Zambia. This duty involved the procurement of various
