2. Plot Outline.
The main characters of the film are; George, Eddy and Adam. They are a group
of friends who are outcasts to society in their school, they are nerds. They are
about to graduate from their high school and have never been to a High School
party before, they each stay at home and do stereotypically nerdy things like
play Xbox. One day at school they see posters for a Graduation Party and despite
being told they couldn’t come, decide to go anyway. They turn up with lots of drink
and have a wild night, Adam finally talks to his crush Chloe, does anything more happen?
George and Eddy both get really drunk and party hard with all the popular boys and girls,
where does there night lead them?
Eddy
Adam George
3. Why Universal?
Orbit Studios have decided to pitch our idea to you first. This is because
as a company you have a proven track record when it comes to Teen
Comedies, for example you have distributed the multi-million dollar
franchise America Pie. We believe that Orbit Studios and Universal
would be a perfect match, this is because we have a great
idea for our product and you have the expertise to distribute our
product internationally which would boost both of our revenues. We
also believe that Graduation could become the next big franchise
and would like to invite you on our mission to make Graduation the
best it could possibly be.
4. Is Graduation conventional?
Very. After a lot of research into the genre we have planned our product
using all of the conventions we found. The story line of three nerds wanting
to go to a Graduation party to get laid is very conventional, it is used in
the film Superbad. The use of attractive girls is also a convention used. The
scenes at school are also used commonly in the genre. In all Teen Comedies
they use a party scene, so that the teenagers can relate to the
film, so we decided to include a party scene to make it conventional. Graduation
is also very comical, it has many scenes of humour throughout the film, including
a scene where George is practising his ‘Jedi’ skills with a lightsaber in his room.
We believe that Graduation is conventional and would appeal to the fans
of previous American Pie’s
5. Would Graduation appeal to the Target
Audience?
Here at Orbit Studios we fully believe Graduation would appeal
to the target audience. We believe this because American Pie
made $989,222,700 in the Box Office and with Universal
behind who have a proven track record in Teen Comedies,
we could work together and market our product successfully.
Graduation would appeal to teenage boys because it uses
attractive girls throughout the film and also uses crude humour
which attracts many teenage boys. Teenagers as a whole would
also want to come and see Graduation because it is
relatable for the audience, by this I mean it includes; romance,
party scenes, drinking and school, these are all aspects of
teenage life and depicting them will make Graduation appealing
