2008-09 HWT Advertising Awards
To whom it may concern,
Brett Arnfield has become an integral part of the News Custom Publishing Team over the past 18
months.
Brett treats NCP as a client and is constantly suggesting new and better ways to present artwork and
concepts to our clients.
In previous jobs Brett has been lucky enough to present his own ideas and gain insightful feedback
from clients. This has given Brett the confidence and skills that he uses on a daily basis when dealing
with NCP.
Brett has devised a new and creative format for the NCP Account Managers to present to clients. The
Interactive Media Kit works well with local clients and has a huge point of difference for Advertising
Agencies who receive thousands of similar, bland, text filled proposals every year.
Whenever we are assigned a new magazine to work on Brett takes an extensive brief and formulates
a concept that is pictorially based and includes only the most important information. The main reason
we keep everything as brief as possible is to inspire conversation between the presenter and the
client. When the client is based Interstate and the Media Kit is emailed a follow up call is necessary
and we can walk a client through the proposal over the phone allowing them to navigate through the
pages easily. Because the Interactive Proposal is very pictorial the client’s attention never wanders.
Perhaps the greatest compliment that a client can pay is their clear recall of our Media Kit against
many others that they receive.
Brett’s work and ideas are translated into user friendly Media Kits that all of our Account Managers
will attest, that it makes their job easier. This is a fantastic innovation that involves and captures the
reader.
Brett has an extremely pro active approach in identifying new clients for all of our titles. He shares his
ideas by providing NCP with creative concepts that they can use as door openers to a sale. He has
the respect of the entire team and is seen by all of them as an authority in his field and someone that
they can approach at anytime to discuss an idea or client request.
I fully endorse Brett’s submission for an award in this category, he certainly has streamlined our
business with his tactical, creative and well researched ideas that work.

To whom it may concern,
The preparation of our Media Kits for all magazines has been performed by Brett Arnfield for the last 3
years.
Brett has the ability to simplify our offering using colourful creative presentations that are memorable
and gain favourable comments from potential clients.
With advertising agencies receiving 1000’s of Powerpoint presentations each year, many of which
have little or no point of difference, Brett’s designs truly stand out and help initiate conversations and
ultimately convert into sales.
The Media Kits intentionally have minimal facts and figures and are designed to start conversations
about the magazine. First impressions do make a huge impact with our clients and we often find that
they respond to us first as we have a more professional offering that is easy to understand.
Our sales staff spend more time talking about the benefits of the magazine to clients and ultimately
have a higher strike rate when converting sales.
The Media Kit has become the most important tool we carry. Because of it’s simplicity it can be
emailed to Interstate clients/teams who have to present it on our behalf. So far all of the feedback from

can offer a simple understandable solution for them to sell to their clients it helps us increase our
client base and exposure in other markets.
Brett is constantly coming up with new creative ideas to use in the Media Kits including interactivity
and the use of cleverly chosen photos to capture the feeling of an event.
It is fair to say that when a client is exposed to Brett’s work they come away with a clear
understanding of what the magazine will do for their business.
