1) Trade was an economicachievementof the GoldenAge of Islam.An important result of the
trade and interaction that furthered the Golden Age was the discovery of the Chinese
papermaking process. It made things much faster and easier than preparing parchment or
papyrus. As a result, paper use spread quickly throughout the empire.
2) Science was a political achievement of the Golden Age of Islam. It advanced in many directions.
Arabic numerals, adapted from Hindu, and the idea of zero made algebra possible. Al–Khwarizmi
wrote an algebra textbook that was the standard for centuries.
3) Art was an intellectual achievement of the Golden Age of Islam. Art in Islam’s Golden included
intricate floral or vine designs on pottery, textiles, paper manuscripts, and even buildings. This
decoration is called arabesques.
2. 4) Literature was a social achievement of the Golden Age of Islam. Al-Azhar is one of the oldest
universities in the world, founded around 970–972 CE in Cairo, Egypt. It focuses on the teaching
of the language Arabic so people could communicate. The value that the Islamic Empire placed on
learning and preserving knowledge from all sources is an great achievement.
