The Islamic Golden Age Empire achieved advancements in many areas due to its multicultural exchange of knowledge and respect for learning. Arabic became the dominant language which facilitated trade and sharing of information between diverse cultures. Islam encouraged the study of all knowledge, so conquered lands and their libraries were preserved rather than destroyed. This led to progress in mathematics, science, and other fields, as Islamic scholars built upon Greek, Indian and other traditions. Notable figures like al-Khwarizmi wrote influential textbooks that advanced algebra and other sciences for centuries to come.
