The Huntercombe Hospital East Yorkshire – Clinical Nurse: Market Weighton, September

Duties include: leading the shift - delegating staff roles and duties; medication -
administering, audits, stock take and ordering; clinical records; daily handover notes; MDT
nursing reports; MDT meetings; observing patients; facilitating activities; facilitating daily
living activities; managing situations involving violence and aggression - verbal de-

role I have enhanced my skills in taking observations of patients and accurate record
keeping,escorting patients on leave in the community and to health appointments. I have
worked on the Learning Disability assessment and treatment units, at Townend Court, where
I carried out personal care tasks and housekeeping duties.
Linda Wilson - Personal Assistant: East Riding of Yorkshire, September 2011 – April 2013

Employed directly by the client’s mother, I worked with a young man with severe learning
disabilities and epilepsy. I assisted with daily personal care tasks and took him for day trips
around Hull and East Yorkshire, and occasionally further afield, to enable him to enjoy
leisure activities and lead a fulfilling life. It was essential to maintain good communication
with the client’s mother on his day-to-day activities and progress, along with any problems
that arose whilst he was in my care.
Danny’s Dream/Live Your Life - Personal Assistant: Hull, May 2007 - May 2010
I helped to empower clients with complex needs to experience socially inclusive lives in a
safe environment. This was achieved by being trained to high standards to support good
health, communication and empowerment. I enabled clients to participate in community
activities and share leisure time with friends, following their own individual person-centred
support plans. I was given full training on Safeguarding and Data Protection policies, and
carried these out carefully in this role.
Hull Royal Infirmary, X-Ray Department - Porter: Hull, November 2006 - May 2007

My duties included the transport of patients and clinical notes and films to and from the X-ray
department, and securing the department on an evening. I gained a good knowledge of
hospital procedures and developed my skills in communicating with both hospital staff and
patients. It was essential to maintain a high level of confidentiality when dealing with clinical
notes and to follow the correct procedures to ensure my duties were carried out safely.
University of Hull - Student Nurse: Hull, September 2005 - October 2006
I started Nursing Studies - Adult branch BSc, as part of which I had placements at a Stroke
rehabilitation ward at Castle Hill Hospital, Gastroenterology ward at Hull Royal Infirmary and
Dermatology at Princess Royal Hospital. During this year I decided to switch branch to
Learning Disabilities and started my second year on placement at CTLD East team.
Northfield Leisure Centre – Leisure Assistant: Birmingham, March 2004 - September 2005
My daily duties included life-guarding the pool and cleaning communal areas. With a view to
progressing on to a Senior Leisure Assistant role, I took on additional duties, which involved
taking pool water samples and the delegation of duties.
Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre – Leisure Assistant: Birmingham,
July 1999 – September 2005
My role involved life-guarding the pool, cleaning communal areas and setting up sports
activities in the sports hall. I helped to set up and take down seating for large events and set
up for computer fairs, along with events in the sports hall.
Hobbies and Interests
I am an avid sports fan and play football once a week with a group of friends. I co-lead a
weekly topical discussion group, and attend a local Church, where I assist with IT and
technology support.
