The document summarizes an administrator academy presented by Trumbull County Educational Service Center. The academy, led by principal Bobby Dodd, aims to provide resources and support to help administrators grow in their roles. Participants will attend orientation and sessions on building relationships, effective learning environments, and developing a leadership plan. The interactive academy uses both in-person and virtual sessions, and participants will complete small projects to apply the strategies discussed. The goals are for administrators to meet leadership standards, develop skills to improve schools, and achieve gains in outcomes through an individualized success plan.
2. Why an Administrator Academy?
•To provide administrators with the resources and
tools to grow and get better each day.
•Provide training, mentoring and support for
administrators.
3. What Will Make This a Unique Experience?
• You’re looking at a guy who started from the bottom.
• I’ve worked in Appalachia Ohio all the way to suburban schools
• From a person who didn’t even want to be a teacher to a leader of
the biggest high school in Central Ohio.
• You will learn that if I can get better each day, then anyone can.
• This academy will provide any administrator, at any level, easy to use
resources that can be implemented immediately.
• We will look at philosophy, but really focus on practices
• You will get step-by-step instructions on how to use resources as an
administrator and where to find help when you need it.
4. I Wanted to Be the Best Administrator
• I was a teacher for the first 10 years of my career.
• I always felt like I could do better than the administrator I worked for.
• When I first started, I felt others doubted me and if I could be a good
administrator.
• This is what drove me – it was one of my “Why”s
• As I continued to search for ways in which I could improve, I began to
realize knowledge was the power.
• I focused on getting more and more information so I could become
more knowledgeable.
