3. Keats
Jhon Keats – Born 31st of October, 1795; Died on 23rd February, 1821.
He died at young age of just 25 years. He lived very yoouthfully and
it was reflected in his writings also.
“A Thing of beauty is joy forever;
Its lovelyness increases ; it will never
Pass into nothingness but still will keep”
These are the lines by Keats which is converted into saying. This
can be stood as evidence for that writer have lived young. We can see
love and betrayal as the theme of his writing..
4. Keats was one of the main figures of second generation of Romantic
poets with writers like Lord Byron and P. B. Shelly.
The poetry of Keats is characterized by sensual imagery, love, betrayal
and natural elements; most notably in the series of odes and ballads.
For example, ‘La belle dame sans Merci’ (The beautiful woman without
mercy/pity), ‘Ode to Psyche’ , ‘Ode to Autumn’ , ‘Ode on Grecian Urn’ , ‘Ode
to Nightingale’.
Today his poems and letters are the things which are most popular and
widely analysed thing in English Literature.
7. “Beauty is truth, truth beauty,- that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to
know."
The concept might be
compared with Indian
philosophy of SATYAM-
SHIVAM-SUNDARAM.
9. Beauty is given the highest place because it comes at
the end(beauty is truth and truth beauty). This is not
about the ordinary beuty but about the Aesthetics. This
is about the pleasure of Pain.
“Heared melodies are sweet, but those unheard
Are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on.”
This is why all (satya-shiva) is meant for Beauty..
