can change the world;
indeed, it is the only thing
that ever has.

3. 2019...
While my friends and I were going back from
lunch to our afternoon class we found a street dog
He kept following us, and we
could see he was deeply wounded.
We started calling animal rescue centers,
but none of them were willing to help us.
Once we arrived at school, the dog was still
with us. Therefore, we started to think of
solutions for the case.
As we were having evening classes, it was designated
that two friends and I were responsible for taking care
of him and finding a solution through the evening.

4. To overcome this challenge, tasks were delegated;
My friends were responsible for taking care of the dog in front of the school.
I was responsible for seeking help from the petshop that was located on the same
street as the school.

After tasks were given...
The petshop was not willing to help us, but I was able to buy a collar and dog food.
Once I got back, we decided to name the dog George
It was hard to find a place for him to spend the night, as we all lived in apartments.
At the end of the day, we were able to find a friend whose parents were willing to
stay with George overnight as she lived in a big house.

5. The next day, we took George to a vet and found out that he had a broken
jaw. Probably because someone kicked him while he was living on the street.

6. The treatment he underwent, cost R$1800,00. As this was too much to afford, we
decided to chip in to collect the money.
After posting the chip in link on social media and sharing it with family and
friends, we were able to collect R$2800,00 in a day.
As we overcame our goal, we used the remaining money to buy medicines and
pay George a one-month stay at a dog hotel, while he was getting his treatment.
7. Gladly, after the treatment was over, we had already found a home for George.
And until nowadays we receive pictures and videos of him.
8. What have I learned?
If I can help someone, it doesn't matter who, I
must do it.
There are so many people and animals there
are voiceless concerning the things they have
been through, and if you can, somehow, give
them a voice or be their voice you need to do
it.
It is extremely important that we put ourselves
in each other’s shoes, learning how our actions,
however involuntary they may be, can directly
affect someone’s life.

9. I have not only learned about the world, but also
about how I will face future challenges...
In future challenges I need to consider the social part of the
society we inhabit.
I discovered there are still many people who care about social
agendas and others' well-being, and I can always count on them
to help me when it is needed.
Social media is a powerful tool that can reach a big amount of
people in a short period of time, if you know how to use it.
