Introduction
I am a quality-driven, goal-oriented worker and perform well in a team environment or as an individual
contributor. My mottos are: ‘Anything worth doing is worth doing well’ and ‘the whole is only as good as its
smallest part.’ These mottos are expressed in my determination to be the best I can be, to strive for
excellence and to continually challenge myself to greater personal and professional achievements. I have
received awards in customer satisfaction throughout my career, proving my commitment to meet, and
often exceed, customer requirements and expectations.
Skills
Documentation/Communication
My career in technical, marketing and user documentation spans over fifteen years in aerospace,
engineering, and financial companies, with a range of publishing experience that includes: mechanical
paste-up of newspaper advertising spots, editing and word processing of engineering and information
technology documents; storyboarding, illustrating and titling executive presentations; and proposal
development. While remaining conscious of standards and best practices, I approach my work creatively,
have an eye for design and detail, and a targeted focus on achieving goals and completing tasks. Some
of my principle skills are identified below.
Expertise in the desktop publishing software including Microsoft: Word, PowerPoint, Visio. Adobe
Creative Suite: Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop.
Shipley Associates proposal management process experience including; dissecting Response for
Proposal documents to identify requirements, coordinate author assignments, assist in schedule
adherence, and ensure a complete and compliant proposal response; establishing file system
structure and file naming conventions; preparing draft proposal documents for color team reviews;
incorporating revised and new content in live editing review sessions; proofreading and incorporating
final edits; producing final proposal response submittal for hard copy or electronic delivery.
Draft, illustrate and edit technical documentation and supporting graphics for proposals,
presentations, policies and procedures, user guides, installation and operation guides, technical
reports and papers, display materials.
Interview subject matter experts to produce informative documentation, engaging presentations and
responsive proposals.
Document computer and application processes and procedures; prepare instruction guides and
materials for engineering, marketing, sales and contracts departments, and the user community.
Strong written, verbal and visual communications skills.
Information Technology
My eight years work experience in information technology, as a UNIX systems administrator and
workstation support specialist, has provided me with a practical understanding of system management
and application functionality. This has allowed me to quickly develop expertise in new technologies and
techniques, troubleshoot problems with the applications I use, and develop methods and practices to
reduce error and redundancy. Process improvement is a concept I embrace whole-heartedly and employ
in my everyday activities.
Comprehension of information technology concepts and tools has proven useful the creation and
administration of a SharePoint site used as a work team tool kit and repository for content boilerplate, and
also as an administrator of a web-based collaborative, file exchange site for proposal projects and
engineering programs supporting system users and project files and folders.
