Transfer is a voluntary code of practice for journal publishers regarding best practices for transferring and receiving journals. It is governed by a standing committee and aims to provide transparency. Version 4 of the Transfer Code of Practice was recently published and addresses issues like open access, perpetual access responsibilities, and categories of paid customers. The Transfer Alerting Service, which notifies the community of journal transfers, has migrated to a new platform managed by the ISSN International Centre. This provides improved search, browse, and API functions to track journal transfers.

7. The ISSN International Centre and Transfer
ETAS is now provided by the ISSN IC
A two step-process:
• Signature of the Transfer Code of practice by publishers;
• Registration of the publisher by the ISSN International Centre
on the ISSN Publishers’ Extranet.
Transfer requests are filled in by the publishers on the ISSN
Extranet.
Transfer information is distributed on the new ETAS application:
