Case Study
A RailKonsult team was set up in 2007 to support our client
improve their performance in delivering track renewals.
Significant reductions in time and cost were required, together
with an improvement in the quality of the finished product.
Starting at the strategic level, analysis identified a number of
potential areas of improvement and these were prioritised to
form a deliverable programme of improvements.
An organisational structure and reporting process was
implemented to enable the Executive to monitor progress and
control the overall programme.
On completion of each project, a detailed report was produced
that clearly identified the changes that had been delivered and
measured the outcomes against predetermined success criteria.
The programme included introduction of new plant and
processes, reintroduction of plant that had lapsed out of use
(old methodology with new technology), addressed fundamental
engineering issues and developed the under-pinning knowledge
of key members of the client’s teams.
