5. Right to Equality
• Equality before Law;
• All citizens are equally protected by the law ,as per article 14.
• Social equality and equal access to public spaces;
• No discrimination on basis of caste ,color etc and equal acess to pulic spaces like museum ,as
per article 15.
• Equality in matters of public employment;
• State cannot discriminate any one in matters of employment ,as per article 16.
• Abolition of Untouchability;
• Abolition of practise of untouchability and doing so is punishable under law, as per article 17.
• Abolition of titles;
• Article 18 prohibits , state from conferring any titles. Citizens can’t accept title from foreign
state.
6. Right To Freedom
Freedom of speech and expression;
This enables the citizens to participate in public activities.
Freedom of expression includes , freedom of press as well.
Freedom to assemble peacefully without arms;
State can impose reasonable restrictions in the interest of
public order and the sovereignty and integrity of India.
Freedom to form association or unions;
Reasonable restrictions can be imposed in the public
interest to preserve morality, integrity and sovereignty of
India.
7. Right To Freedom
Freedom to move freely throughout territory of India;
State can impose reasonable restrictions to protect the
interests of the public, e.g.: controlling epidemic.
Freedom to reside and settle in any parts of india;
State can impose reasonable restrictions to protect the
general public and scheduled tribes from coercion of
indigenous cultures and values and exploitation .
Freedom to practice any profession, trade or business;
restrictions can be imposed in the public interest to
carrying of dangerous and immoral activities .
9. Right to Freedom of Religion
• citizens are free to preach,
practice and propagate any
religion.
• Can set up charitable institution.
• State can’t prefer one religion over
other.
• State can’t propagate it’s own
religious education.
• No person should be compelled to
pay tax for promotion of religion.
10. Right to education and culture
Elementary education is a fundamental right.
11. Right to education and culture
• Right to develop and
conserve the language and
script of any community.
• All minorities(religious &
linguistic) can set up their own
educational institution to
preserve culture.
12. Right to Constitutional Remedies
Right to move a court of law , in case of any denial of
fundamental rights.
