DESCON ENGINEERING COMPANY
INTRODUCTION:
Descon is a Pakistani multinational company which is based
in Lahore, Pakistan. The company was founded on 15 December 1977. It operates
in Engineering, Power and Chemicals sectors. Descon is the only Pakistani
company to be included in the Engineering News-Record list since 2007 The
company was founded by Abdul Razak Dawood as Design Engineering and
Construction Services in 1977 with only four engineers. The initial money used for
the startup was âš 3.2 million. From this, they expanded into three sectors and are
now operating in UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman. Iraq and South Africa.
MISSION STATEMENT
âMaking HSE (health, safety, and environment) performance a key indicator
of organizational excellence by integrating HSE into the companyâs business
processes thereby sustaining growth, complying social obligations, protecting
human loss and the environment.â

PROJECT MANAGER:
Project managers are the people incharge of a specific projects or projects
with in a company. as the project manager your job is to plan, budget, oversee
and document aspects of the specific project you are working on project manager
any work closely with upper manager to make sure that the scope and direction
of each project is on scheduled. as well as other department for support. Project
manager might work by themselves or be in charge of a team to get the job done.
JOB ANALYSIS METHOD FOR PROJECT MANAGER:
INTERVIEW METHOD
the interview method is used by the descon engineering company for the job
analysis of the project manager. this interview is conducted by the senior
manager of descon company with the different job holder. Usually this interview
is held at job site. due to this method an authentic information is obtained which
is useful for further HR function.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Following point are include in the job description of the project manager,
âą Assuring deployment of human resources and Inspection & Testing equipmentâs
as per project budget and utilize them to get time tested results.
âą Ensuring the overall execution of the Quality inspection Plan at Project through
a well-managed project QA/QC team.
âą Review and Submission of weekly, fortnightly, monthly QA/QC reports to client,
contractor, site management and DESCON head quarter.
âą Attend internal and external meeting with all parties; company, contractor,
vendors, contractorâs subcontractor.

âą Ensuring the implementation of applicable Codes, standards, project
specification to meet quality requirements.
âą Publicizing Quality Issues/concerns with site project team and as well as with
contractor and company.
âą Responsible for ensuring that work methods are in line with Quality Inspection
Plans and are well understood by concerned supervisors, places emphasis and
concentration on quality cost reduction opportunities through close coordination
with project QA/QC team.
âą Responsible for providing assistance to the Corporate Commercial/BA for
incoming material inspections as and when required.
âą Responsible for ensuring that controlled copies of all relevant codes and/or
specifications are available at Project to avoid any misinformation.

months and its purpose is to investigate strength and weakness after that making
