What Is Godly Love?

  1. 2. IS NOT JEALOUS <ul><li>If you love your husband, you will not be jealous of him. </li></ul>
  2. 3. LOVE IS NOT BOASTFUL <ul><li>A husband desires that his wife behaves in a humble and meek manner towards him. </li></ul><ul><li>He desires that you not act in a prideful way. </li></ul>
  3. 4. IS NOT ARROGANT <ul><li>You are not always “right”, and you don’t have to be. </li></ul><ul><li>You must accept correction from your husband. </li></ul>
  4. 5. LOVE IS NOT RUDE <ul><li>Many times we will be polite to strangers, but short and rude with the people we live with, because we are with them all time. </li></ul><ul><li>We are to be more polite to our husbands than to anyone else. </li></ul>
  5. 6. IS NOT IRRITABLE <ul><li>Love requires patience to resist irritability. </li></ul><ul><li>Sometimes emotional imbalance contributes to irritability. </li></ul>
  6. 7. LOVE IS NOT RESENTFUL <ul><li>Do not hold a grudge against your husband when he makes a mistake. </li></ul>
  7. 8. DOES NOT INSIST ON ITS OWN WAY <ul><li>Do not be rigid and set in your ways, plans, and ideas. </li></ul><ul><li>Give up selfishness and be willing to bend. </li></ul><ul><li>If you love your husband, you will be flexible and willing to compromise. </li></ul>
  8. 9. LOVE DOES NOT REJOICE AT WRONG <ul><li>Love does not say “I told you so”. </li></ul><ul><li>Love does not laugh at someone’s weakness or mistakes. </li></ul>
  9. 10. <ul><li>Our husband desires that we love him more than anything else; More than sacrifices made for your marriage. </li></ul><ul><li>If you are going to love your husband with godly love you are going to have to be patient with him; kind to him. You will have to be unselfish with him; put his needs before your own. </li></ul>
  10. 11. <ul><li>You will love him by rejoicing in the good things about him, and the good things he does. </li></ul><ul><li>Loving your husband will require that you bear all things in the marriage, all things he does, and all things he is. </li></ul><ul><li>You will believe all the best things about him. </li></ul><ul><li>You will hope all the best things about him. </li></ul><ul><li>You will endure all things about him. </li></ul>
