PROJECTS
M. Tech Thesis June 2015- July 2016
Guide – Dr. S. S. Gautam
Title –Study of Smoothed Finite Element Methods for Analysis of Two Dimensional Problems
Objective: Numerical analysis of two dimensional problems using Smoothed Finite Element Method
FEM results were obtained for two dimensional problems using MATLAB code. With minimum
changes in this FEM code, cell based smoothed finite element method was incorporated. These
results of cell based smoothed finite element method and standard FEM were compared with
analytical solution. It was proposed that by applying strain smoothing technique to standard FEM
formulation, better results can be obtained.
Application: Improving results for simulation of solid mechanics problems
B. Tech Final Year Project June 2011-May 2012
Guide – Prof. A. Admuthe
Title - Study of Damping Capacity of Aluminium Alloy
Objective: To find out proper precipitation Hardening method to improve ‘Damping Capacity’ of
aluminium alloy
Precipitation hardening of the alloy was carried out for various combinations of time and
temperature and optimum ageing time for maximum damping capacity of aluminium alloy LM9 was
obtained. As damping capacity & mechanical properties are contradictory factors in this alloy an
attempt was made to correlate Mechanical Properties with Damping Properties
