1. Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India. 2010- ****
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Durability of prestressed concrete structures
Courses: Corrosion Engineering, Advanced Concrete Technology, Advanced theory and design of Concrete
Structures, Modern construction materials, Maintenance and rehabilitation of concrete structures.
Research Dissertation 2014, Service life estimation of prestressed concrete structures exposed to
The effect of steel composition, corrosion inhibitor types and dosages, service load, conventional and
accelerated test methods on critical chloride threshold of various types of rebar is studied. The influence of
corrosion rate on the residual tensile capacity loss on the rebar with respect to time is estimated. Based on
the diffusion coefficient of chloride in concrete data obtained from literature, service life of the structure is
estimated using the corrosion initiation and propagation data obtained from experimental studies.
2. Anna University Chennai, College of Engineering Guindy, India. 2008-2010
Master of Engineering (M.E.), Construction Engineering and Management CGPA-8.1/10
Courses: Construction equipment, Shoring, Scaffolding and formwork, Energy conservation in building
construction, Construction Planning and Scheduling, Contract laws and regulations.
Master’s Thesis 2010, Study on high performance concrete using recycled materials.
The aggregate recycled from the demolished structures and the steel slag waste from steel industry were
replaced with conventional coarse aggregate to achieve high performance concrete. The main aim of this
project is to reduce the landfills by utilizing the industrial wastes. As expected the recycled aggregate and
steel slag enhance the compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete respectively.
3. K. S. Rangasamy College of Technology, Anna University Chennai. 2005-2008
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Civil Engineering 79%
Courses: Structural Dynamics, Remote Sensing and GIS, Smart materials and structures, Hydraulics
Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Surveying, Environmental Impact Assessment.
Undergraduate project-I, 2008, Study on ground water quality using GPS and GIS tools.
The ground water quality of the considered study area is highly polluted, which cannot be used for drinking
purpose. In this study, the water quality analysis was done by collecting the samples throughout the study
area and compared with the recommended levels.
Undergraduate project-II, 2008, Analysis and design of Reinforced Cement Concrete bridge.
A typical RCC bridge was designed and the results were compared with the outcome of the readily
available design tools. The manual reinforcement detailing was compared with the automated detailing
done with an application package.
