2. What is Emotion?
Comes from the Latin word “emovere” which
means “to move out”. Conveys the idea of an
outward expression of something inside.
In psychology, emotion is defined as a subjective
state that is a reaction to either internal or external
stimuli. It strongly affects behavior.
Emotion is associated with a range of
psychological phenomena, including
temperament, personality, mood, and motivation.
3. Aspects of Emotions
Conscious experience – events, which serves as
stimulus, that people can describe verbally.
Cognition – one’s thoughts and perception of the
event or stimulus.
Physiological response – bodily changes that occur
during the emotion.
Behavior – the actions and reactions of the person
6. What is a Micro expression?
A micro expression is a brief and involuntary facial
expression that is shown on the face of humans
according to the emotions that are being experienced.
Macro expressions are often
intentional facial displays of emotion that last from
half of a second to about 4 seconds.
Unlike regular prolonged facial expressions, it is
difficult to fake a micro expression.
