1. Presque Mort
Group Projects French IA
Marc Mallet
2. Overview
Why are we doing this project?
To demonstrate the knowledge we gained from reading Presque
Mort.
What did we learn?
New vocabulary, new grammar structures, cultural information
about La Bretagne.
What did we practice that we already know?
Verb tenses: present of ER verbs and irregular verbs, nouns and
adjectives,
reading comprehension skills
3. How can we demonstrate what we learned
by reading the book?
1. Create a travel brochure advertising a travel abroad program to
Bretagne and another French region using the information from
the book. Your presentation to the class will be a pitch for your
travel abroad programs to Bretagne and the region of your
choice. Be sure to include a description in French about why
students should participate in travel abroad programs. (2 people)
2. Use Voicethread with pictures to re-tell the story. You may re-
do the ending, but must give a reason (IN FRENCH) as to WHY
you wanted to change the ending. (3 people)
4. How can we demonstrate what we learned
by reading the book?
3. Do a character analysis of the main characters in the book:
Ann, Paul, Yannick. Describe (in French) their personalities,
flaws, motivations for how they react to certain situations in the
book. Upon presenting your analysis, you will need to have a
visual component to pair with your written descriptions (power
point, Voicethread, dress up as a character, poster, cut-out, etc.
2-3 people)
4. Everything but the kitchen sink?!This group will use their
imaginations to combine several elements of Presque Mort into
one review game/ presentation-- the power point, skit,
Voicethread, Jeopardy game, etc.) MUST include grammar,
cultural information, plot information and character analysis.
Your idea need to be approved by Mr. Mallet before beginning
work. (3 people)
5. We will create a wiki to be a resource page
for the book.
Each group will compete to add a portion of their project to the
wiki to make a complete resource page about Le Voyage de sa
Vie that will demonstrate a different facet of what we learned by
reading the book. Only the best quality work will be published
on the wiki!
6. When is the project due?
