This document outlines an automatic railway gate system with online monitoring. The system aims to reduce train accidents by automating gates cheaply and allowing remote monitoring and control. It uses a microprocessor to automatically open and close gates, sound alarms, and control traffic lights when trains approach. It also includes a web interface for train drivers and remote users to monitor gate status in real time.

2. 1.0. Introduction
1.1. Purpose
In Sri Lanka more than 100 train accident annually. Most of them set in the
Railway Gates. The traditional safe railway gates are more expensive and most of them
operate manually by gate keepers. So practically it is difficult to apply traditional safe
railway gate to all railway crosses. So this project will focus about Automated Railway
Gate with Online Monitoring System.
1.2. Scope of Project
This is the Automatic Railway Gate with online Monitoring System . This project about
that security essential of unsafe railway gate in Sri Lanka. We can use this system to
develop those unsafe railway gates to safe and fully automated railway gates cheaply also
we can control and monitor gates remotely via using this online system.
The Automatic Railway Gate Security System is produce alarm, traffic
light ,and automatic controlling of railway gate when approach the train to railway gate
also we can remotely monitor that the gate and all output unit is work properly if not
work properly we can control the Gates via internet within the main control unit and most
important point is the system provide user interface to train driver to monitor rather
becoming railway gate work properly or not. It is help to reduce train accidents.
2.0.Overall Description
The project use AtMega328p microprocessor with Arduino base platform as
Hardware platform. And use C++ base language platform to program the microprocessor.
For the monitoring and controlling system use HTML as frontend and PHP use as
backend of the system.
This project will be include two major unit .Those are the Hardware unit and web
server,. In detector unit system collect the necessary information for the system to behave
and output unit for close and open the railway gate ,on/off siren and traffic light and
control unit for the control above two units.
