different facilities including men,machine

4.Combine or Group Layout

6. PRODUCT LAYOUT.
All the processing equipment and machines are arranged
according to the sequence of operations of the product,the
layout is called product layout.
It is also called line layout.

1.No flexiblity.
2.Better utilization of machines.
3.Less floor area is required.
4.One type of product is required.
5.More productivity.

In this type of layout,the machines are not arranged
according the sequence of operations but are arranged
according to the nature of operations.
It is also called functional layout

4.Lack of accountability.
5.Large valuume of produuction.
6.No proper sequence of operation

In this type of layout,the major components remain in a fixed
location,other materilas,parts,tools,machinery,man power
and other supporting equipment's are brought to this
location.
It is also called static layout.

3.Highly skilled operator is used

15. COMBINE OR GROUP LAYOUT.
Now a days in pure state anyone form of layouts discussed above
is rarely found.Therefore,generally the layouts used in industrirs
are the compromise of the above mentioned layouts.Every layouts
has got certain advantages and disadvanges.Therefore industries
would like to use any type of layout as such.
Flexiblity is a very imprtant factory,so layout should be such can
be molded according to the requirements of industry,without much
investment
