β’ A pneumothorax usually is diagnosed through
a physical exam and a chest X-ray.
Tests that may be ordered include:
β’ Arterial blood gases and other blood tests.
β’ Chest x-ray.
β’ CT scan if other injuries or conditions are suspected.
β’ Electrocardiogram.

are a measurement of how much O2
And Co2 are in the blood. They also
determine the acidity (pH) of the blood.
The test is used to:
β’ Evaluate respiratory diseases and conditions that
affect the lungs.
Normal value.
Abnormal results may be due to lung
Diseases or other injuries that affect breathing
