things when it comes to beauty and nail care services. This module

MATERIALS - are cosmetics and supplies that are consumed and be replaced
from time to time, and also called consumables
ALCOHOL - an organic compound used as sanitizer.
SAOP - is a substance used with water for washing and

equipment. Cleaning procedures are needed to be observed well to maintain
hygiene and to prevent the spread of contagious diseases which can be

FOOT SPA
MACHINE, TOOLS
SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT:
Maintenance of your tools requires a lot of time and effort as they are
also a big investment. Making sure your tools are properly stored, cleaned,
and well maintained will save you time and money as well as making your
projects and jobs much easier. Cleaning your tools is probably the last
thing you want to do after a hard day’s work, but it is essential for keeping your
tools in good condition. It is a process that only takes a few seconds and is
time well spent that will prevent you from having to repair or replace it always.

31. Sterilization - is the process of destroying all microorganisms. Equipment and
tools found in salon are needed to be
sterilized.
Sanitation - refers to the physical or
chemical means used to keep the salon
and its equipment as clean
and free of germs as possible in order to protect the health of the public.
These are the step by step instructions for disinfecting hand spa
equipment:
1. Soak the tools/ implements in hot, soapy water solution to remove any
debris and oil residue. Rinse them thoroughly.
32. 2. Place the tools/implements in a 70% to 90% alcohol solution for 20
minutes.
3. Remove the tools/implements from solution, wipe them dry, and place
them into a dry sterilizer until ready for use.
Always put in mind that it is essential knowledge for someone who performs hand
spa treatment that they know the different equipment, materials, and tools to be used for
each activity. It is also very important to know their functions in order to use it in the right
way and to utilize them properly. Treatment will be successful and will show
effectiveness when the right tools are used for hand spa activity, this will help improve
not just the welfare of your client but also your knowledge of the activities. Hand spa is
hand care that improves the appearance of our nails and hands. This treatment cleans
our hands and can make us relax and relieves stress from the everyday routine of tiring
activities. It is also a form of massage that gives beneficial effects to our body..
