Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module –: (Apply Hand Treatment) Apply Hand
Softening Product and Massage According to Prescribed Procedure!
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators both from
public and private institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners
meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social,
and economic constraints in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning
activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the
needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.

Hand softening products are commonly used by professional technicians in salon.
Applying softening products is another treatment to relax tense nerves. Once you learn the
right procedure of hand massage, this could be your chance to augment family income. This
activity can be done at home.
In this lesson, we will focus on applying hand softening products and massage
according to prescribed procedure.

What is It
HAND SPA TOOLS, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
The following tools referred to as implements are durable, permanent and are
hand-held.
Mixing bowl is a small open-top, rounded
cup-like container used for mixing the
aromatic oils and other fluids for the hand or
foot spa.

The following supplies/materials are the cosmetics that are consumed and
replaced from time to time. They are also called consumables.
Antiseptic Solution is an agent that
reduces or prevents the multiplication of
microorganisms.
Pumice Stone is a type of volcanic rock,
which is actually frothy lava solidified to
form a porous rock to remove dry and
annoying skin as well as calluses.
Cling Wrap is a thin plastic film used for
sealing the paraffin during a hand spa.
Alcohol is an organic compound used as
sanitizer.
Body Scrub is a mixture of natural
ingredients to keep feet soft, smooth and
moisturized and to remove dead skin cells.

Mittens are slips over plastic liners to
increase heat retention when used with
paraffin.
Lotion is used to soften and moisturize the
skin.
Paraffin wax is a mineral wax derived from
petroleum. It is a soft wax that melts at a
temperature cool enough to safely
immerse your skin. Paraffin wax is used as
a treatment in spas and salons to lock in
moisture.
Soap is used for cleansing.
First Aid Kit is a collection of supplies for
use in giving first aid.

The following equipment are the items which are more or less durable and
permanent needed for a particular activity or purpose.

Now that you are already familiar with the different tools, supplies and equipment
needed in giving hand spa as well as their uses, the next topic is about the procedure in
applying hand softening product and massage. Because of the pandemic that we are facing
now, you are not allowed to go out from your home to stay safe. Here are some homemade
hand scrub that you can use.
Tools, materials and ingredients used for preparing homemade hand scrub.
Tools : Materials: Ingredients:
Tablespoon Hand towel Aloe vera
Procedure in using Homemade Hand Scrub
1. Extract a tablespoon of gel from an aloe leaf.
Plastic Basin is used for soaking hands
and holding soapy water
Trolley is a movable cart that contains
supplies and materials.
Paraffin wax machine contains a heat
source and tank that holds paraffin wax.
The machine melts the wax and maintains
it in a liquid state.
Hand Spa Machine is an electronic gadget
used to soothe pain of arthritis, muscle
spasms and dry cracked skin of the hands.

2. Blend the gel and apply it to your hands.
3. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse it
4. Refrigerate the remaining gel for future use.

Antiseptic Solution is an agent that reduces or prevents the multiplication of microorganisms. Pumice Stone is a type of volcanic rock, which is actually frothy lava solidified to form a porous rock to remove dry and annoying skin as well as calluses. Cling Wrap is a thin plastic film used for sealing the paraffin during a hand spa. Alcohol is an organic compound used as sanitizer. Paraffin wax is a mineral wax derived from petroleum. It is a soft wax that melts at a temperature cool enough to safely immerse your skin. Now that you are already familiar with the different tools, supplies and equipment needed in giving hand spa as well as their uses, the next topic is about the procedure in applying hand softening product and massage. Because of the pandemic that we are facing now, you are not allowed to go out from your home to stay safe. Here are some homemade hand scrub that you can use. Tools, materials and ingredients used for preparing homemade hand scrub. Tools : Materials: Ingredients: Tablespoon Hand towel Aloe vera Procedure in using Homemade Hand Scrub 1. Extract a tablespoon of gel from an aloe leaf. Plastic Basin is used for soaking hands and holding soapy water Trolley is a movable cart that contains supplies and materials. Paraffin wax machine contains a heat source and tank that holds paraffin wax. The machine melts the wax and maintains it in a liquid state.
