The Future Foundation School is founded on the principles and inspired by the light of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. Guided by Shri Pradyot Kumar Bhattacharya (1905-1984), iconic engineer and trustee of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry, Smt. Joya Mitter 1936- 1999), a devotee and cultural aficionado, founded the school in 1981 and modelled it in the style of the Gurukul of ancient times.

2. About Us
The Future Foundation School is founded on the principles and inspired by the light of Sri
Aurobindo and The Mother. Guided by Shri Pradyot Kumar Bhattacharya (1905-1984), iconic
engineer and trustee of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry, Smt. Joya Mitter 1936- 1999), a
devotee and cultural aficionado, founded the school in 1981 and modelled it in the style of
the Gurukul of ancient times. After her demise in 1999, Shri Ranjan Mitter took charge as
Principal and over the past two decades, has transformed the school into a contemporary,
future-ready institution. It is an organic extension of a pre-school, Arun Nursery, which was
named and blessed by the Mother. Shri Arun Tagore, a reputed lawyer belonging to the
famous Tagore family lineage, founded the pre-school, seeking permission of The Mother to
do so, who named the school ‘Arun Nursery’, much to his embarrassment. Thus, on
September 04, 1972 the pre-school began its journey and from these origins grew The
Future Foundation School.

5. Our Approach
TFFS embraces a very rounded approach to education that inheres the benefits of western
liberal education while keeping itself rooted in the spiritual teachings of Sri Aurobindo and
The Mother.
The classrooms are fun grounds of learning where frankness, open discussions, cross
questioning, and heart to heart interactions impart genuine joy during lesson transactions.
The lessons are extended beyond the classrooms to encourage experiential learning that
moves from near to far and concrete to abstract.
The teachers of the school are really the facilitators whose earnest effort is to allow the
child develop his potential to the fullest and to hone his skills to the utmost level possible.
The child is encouraged to be curious and questioning, to gather knowledge by being
eager, attentive and fearless.

strengths and some even with challenges. We are a family and our aim is to discipline with
