No Words, Just Acts is the guiding principle of our school. Therefore, make an effort to put all the lofty objectives and concepts we promote into practise.
Our special "learning by doing" method includes teaching life skills as well as the "vital education" that The Mother instilled in us.
CIVIL SKILLS
The capacity for adaptable and constructive behaviour known as "life skills" enables people to successfully navigate the demands and difficulties of daily life.
The Future Foundation School's job is to assist the pupils in identifying their strengths. Therefore, we cultivate abilities that not only get students ready for college.

1. LIFESKILLS & VITAL EDUCATION: THE
PILLARS OF LEARNING BY DOING
No Words, Acts – this is what our school believes in. Hence, attempt to put
into action all the high ideals and principles we propagate.
Our unique system of ‘learning by doing’ encompasses teaching life skills
and also ‘vital education’ taught to us by The Mother.
LIFE SKILLS
Life skills are abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable
individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday
life.
The role of The Future Foundation School is to help the students discover
their strengths. We, therefore, cultivate skills that not only prepare students
for higher studies but also enable them to take care of their personal
needs.
Workshops on varied social and emotional themes like Anger
Management, Conflict Resolution, Self Control, Attention & Mindfulness,
Code of Sportsmanship, Digital Addiction and Gender Equality, Accepting
Defeat, Self Doubt, Fear, Adolescence, Courage, etc, help students to
imbibe the necessary psychosocial competencies and interpersonal skills
to make informed decisions, solve problems, think critically and creatively,
build healthy relationships and manage their lives in a healthy and
responsible manner. Life skills impart sustainable good habits and inculcate
a sense of aesthetics. Last, but not the least, The Future Foundation
School teaches its students not only to practise but to celebrate
cleanliness, hygiene, and good habits. For these are what will take a child
forward in life.
VITAL EDUCATION
One of the five aspects of education taught by Sri Aurobindo and The
Mother, Vital education is crucial to discovering the gifts, talents and skills
inherent or latent in a child and endorsing and fostering growth.
The motto of Vital Education is to train the sense organs of our students to
attain precision. Cultivation of the aesthetic senses, nurturing of creative
2. impulses and inculcation of an unwavering aspiration, are a few of its
aspects. In line with these principles, we facilitate our students in their
pursuit of co-scholastic activities such as art, instrumental and vocal music,
acquiring and honing skills of speech and expression through debating,
drama, declamation, elocution and extempore speech, dance, yoga and
eurythmics.
The Mother said that the aim of education is not to prepare one to succeed
in life but to increase one’s perfectibility to the utmost. It is this high
standard that we set for ourselves that makes us one of the best schools of
Kolkata and sets us apart.
3. BACKGROUND
The Future Foundation School is founded on the principles and inspired by
the light of Sri
Aurobindo and The Mother. Guided by Shri Pradyot Kumar Bhattacharya
(1905-1984),
iconic engineer and trustee of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry, Smt.
Joya Mitter 1936-
1999), a devotee and cultural aficionado, founded the school in 1981 and
modelled it in the
style of the Gurukul of ancient times. After her demise in 1999, Shri Ranjan
Mitter took
charge as Principal and over the past two decades, has transformed the
school into a
contemporary, future-ready institution. It is an organic extension of a pre-
school, Arun
Nursery, which was named and blessed by the Mother. Shri Arun Tagore, a
reputed lawyer
belonging to the famous Tagore family lineage, founded the pre-school,
seeking
permission of The Mother to do so, who named the school ‘Arun Nursery’,
much to his
embarrassment. Thus, on September 04, 1972 the pre-school began its
journey and from
these origins grew The Future Foundation School.
The Future Foundation School is a co-educational school and is an
initiative of Sri
Aurobindo Institute of Culture. The medium of instruction is English.
The school is affiliated to the Council for Indian School Certificate
Examinations, New
Delhi. Children are prepared for the ICSE and ISC examinations.
The Future Foundation School provides its K 12 students a future
focussed and culturally
rooted education. From a modest beginning the school has now grown
into a premier
educational institution in South Kolkata.
