performance of our products: thermal insulation,
safety and Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV)
and actively striving to play our part in the quest
for consistent zero energy buildings.
MATERIAL
Environmental issues are, quite rightly, at the fore-
front of thinking across the building industry. Sapa
Buiding System is actively working on responsible
and ethical sourcing of raw materials and manu-
factured products, designing for de-construction,
minimising in-process waste and maximising
reuse of building products at the end-of-life stage.
As well as being sustainable, aluminium is inher-
ently strong, this allows the building designer
freedom of expression and the creative room to
design buildings for all of our futures.

Aalst - Belgium
The highlight of the hospital is the atrium.
While being the focal point of the entrance
hall, it has all the energy-efficient, insula-
ting and aesthetic qualities of BIPV.

This student accommodation and teaching
facility was constructed for Leeds Metro-
politan University. The building is notable
for its extensive use of Corten steel clad-
ding in addition to Sapa’s façade systems.

buildings in the Czech Republic. Sapa Build-

For this project Sapa Building System devel-
oped a modified version of its Confort 125
window and door system. The large win-
dows withstand high wind loads and can
still be opened and shut by a small child.
