3. Dynamic pressure monitoring is necessary particularly for diabetic &
polio patients eventually leading to gangrene and amputation. It uses a
horizontally placed transparent Acrylic plate with a webcam placed
below facing upwards. Light from a IR LED strips entered the acrylic
plate from a side and traversed the thickness through total internal
reflection. The scattered IR light rays are recorded as an image by the IR
based webcam. Software on Matlab platform was developed to grab and
analyze image to display dynamic pressure distribution in artificial color
contours. Intensities of pressure at user chosen points were also
provided. The developed system worked with satisfaction and is being
used for clinical assessment regularly.
Abstract
4. • To capture the created blog image and monitor the pressure using acrylic sheet
which acts as a sensor depending on the IR Radiation and analyse it using matlab
software
Objective
13. • Measuring foot pressure for Diabetic Patients and polio patients
Monitor degenerative foot disorders
Identify areas of potential ulceration
Regulate weight bearing after surgery
Evaluate athletic footwear
