2. My target audience was based on young
people who enjoy listening UK Hip-Hop
and Grime especially towards a majority
male audience. I created a masthead
that related to my target audience and
designed it to look trendy, hip and
modern. The word “Madting” is a local
slang used by young people nowadays to
describe something epic, so I decided to
name my magazine after the word for
them to relate to and pick up my
magazine to read.
3. The
main cover star was an
upcoming rapper who I used as the
main topic of my music magazine.
On the cover of my magazine the
artist in the cover image comes
across to the audience as confident,
the chain he his holding portrays
wealth and riches and he has a
certain swagger about him that
attracts the audience which is the
normal outgoing look for British
rappers these days to read the
magazine.
4.
The cover star is a young black man
who represents the youth of the
urban society, with his cap switched
from back to front and his casual but
hip dress sense the audience can
relate to him since he may be from
a similar background to where the
targeted reader comes from. I also
feel that my magazine is more
masculine as it does not feature a
lot of female artists. This was also
based on my research and
knowledge of XXL Magazine
