1. Game/ Toy Recommendations for the Story
Idea 1 – Card Game
(A) Materials -
A pack of 48 cards with the following images
a. Image of Onake Obavva – 24 cards
b. Image of Soldier – 24 Cards
(B) Number of Players – 2-4 players
(C) Aim of game – The player who collects the entire pack of cards is the winner
(D) Instructions for the game
a. Cards are shuffled and distributed equally between the players (for e.g., if 2 players are
playing, then each player gets 24 cards. IF 4 players are paying, then each player gets 12
cards)
b. Each player keeps the cards in a pile facing down.
c. Each round is between 2 players. They are required to pull out the top card from the
pile and show to one another. The player who wins takes the other player’s card if
i. If one player has Onake Obavva card and other player has soldier card, the
player who has Onake Obavva wins the other card. The next round begins (if
more than 2 players are there, the next round is between the winner of this
round and the next player)
ii. If both have soldier, they keep their own card and move it the bottom of the
pile. The next round begins between the same 2 players.
d. If both get Onake Obavva, the person who shouts “Obavvana Kindi” first, gets the card
of the other. The next round begins (if more than 2 players are there, the next round is
between the winner of this round and the next player)
e. This repeats until one player wins all the cards.
IDEA 2) Wooden figurines Game
A) Materials
a. Wooden soldiers
b. Onake Obavva with her arm holding a Onake. The arm should be connected to a lever
that makes her arm movable
B) Aim of the game – Player with maximum points wins the game
C) Instructions
a. Each player has 5 chances to kill the soldiers using Onake Obavva.
b. During their turn, each player has to place onake obavva next to a soldier and move the
arm using the lever provided.
c. On moving the arm, If the soldier falls down, player gets 100 points
d. This repeats until all players have 5 chances each.
