4. IMAGES
Word pictures created by poets are
called images.
The word image is derived from the word imago which
means similarity. It can be any sense perception
expressed in language.
6. VISUAL IMAGE
Visual images are the most common in
poetry , as it is the keenest sense among
the five.
Example,
‘Beaded bubbles winking at the
brim’(Keats)
7. GUSTATORY IMAGES
Example
‘O, for a draught of vintage! That hath been
Cool’d a long age in the deep-delved earth,
Tasting of Flora and the country green’
8. AUDITORY IMAGES
Example

In spring time form the Cuckoo bird,
Breaking the silence of the seas
