7. STUDY
BUSINESS TELEPHONE SYSTEM
A Business Telephone System is any of a range of a multiline
telephone systems typically used in business environments,
encompassing systems ranging from small key systems to large scale
private branch. It consists of whole range of communication system used
by the business entities for its communication purpose. The business
telephone system helps to cut the cost of communication and to
enhance profit. The system also makes the communication easy and
effective between the employees.
8. COMMUNICATION
BHEL Jhansi uses three communication technologies.
Fixed line to fixed line communication
Private Branch Exchange or EPABX
Fixed line to mobile line and vice-verse communication
Fixed Cellular Terminal or FCT
Mobile to Mobile communication
Closed User Group or CUG
9. PRIVATE BRANCH EXCHANGE
A Private branch exchange (PBX) is a telephone exchange that serves
a particular business or office. It make connections among the internal
telephones of a private organization and also connect them to the public
switched telephone network (PSTN) via trunk lines.
From the original key systems, PBX has come along with long journey of
communication technology revolution. It upgraded itself to VoIP PBX,
also known as an IP-PBX or IPBX, which uses the Internet Protocol to
carry calls.
11. SYSTEM COMPONENTS
The PBX’s internal switching network: - It is the internal switching network
which is establish in the premises.
Main distribution frame (MDF) :- Main distribution frame is used to
connect inside and outside cables. It is the frame on which the channel
from all the departments and end point terminates.
Transmission Line: - It is physical wire or other signaling medium
connecting the user's telephone apparatus to the telecommunications
network. It is a low resistance wire carrying very small current. It is an
analog signal with a bandwidth of about 150-3600 Hz.
CPU - Like a PC, PBX too contains a CPU ( Central Processing unit)
which controls all switching activities. It performs all the logic and
normally controlled by a power MCU (Micro Controller Unit).
12. BENEFITS
The primary advantage of PBXs was cost savings on internal phone
calls.
In addition to these basic functions, PBXs offer many other calling
features and capabilities
• Auto attendant
• Auto dialing
• Call accounting
• Call blocking
• Call forwarding on busy or absence
• Call transfer
• conference call
• Public address voice paging
• Welcome Message
13. FIXED CELLUR TERMINAL
Fixed Cellular Terminal (FCT) is a telecommunication equipment that can
be used to connect a Telephone or EPABX to the GSM/CDMA Mobile
Network The FCT PBX Connectivity Terminals offer a simple, cost-
saving solution for utilizing the benefits of GSM through your landline
phones. It serves as a gateway between a GSM network and a
company's private branch exchange (PBX).
14. The GSM FCT can be connected to either the trunk or extension
connector of a PBX, allowing for its use on the analog extension of an
ISDN PBX or with analog PBXs. The system capitalizes on discounts of
cellular tariffs, compared to the DOT on long distance calls. The system
accesses the cheapest available route for the outgoing call from the
database that is allowed through the system
15. CLOSED USER GROUP
Closed User Groups is the service which is used to allow mobility to the
communication among the employee of the organization. CUG service is
offered by the service provider or operator. With the availability of this
service, the specially programmed SIM is distributed among the
employees of the organization. The provider designates each SIM with a
certain extension number. The service saves the cost of Mobile
Communication.
