4. Educational technology is the study
and ethical practice of facilitating
learning and improving performance by
creating, using, and managing
appropriate technological processes
and resources.
5. Learning Technology places the learner
in control of their own education. It is
better able to meet the individual’s
learning requirements by providing a
(potentially) unique experience to every
learner, tailored to their individual
circumstances and characteristics.
6. Dale’s “Cone of Experience” (adapted
from Wiman & Meirhenry, 1960)
suggests that people remember 10% of
what they read, 20% of what they hear,
30% of what they see, 50% of what they
hear and see, 70% of what they say and
write, and 90% of what they say and
perform at a task.
7. Computer is one of the wonders of
human ingenuity, even in its original
design in the 1950’s to carry out
complicated mathematical and logical
operations
Computer-assisted Instruction (CAI)
Computer can be a tutor in effect
relieving the teacher of many
activities in her personal role as
classroom tutor.
8. KIND OF SOFTWARE
1. Simulation Programs
2. Instructional Games
3. Problem-solving Software
4. Multimedia Encyclopedia and
Electronics Books
9. Collaborative learning is a situation
in which two or more people learn or
attempt to learn something together.
Unlike individual learning, people
engaged in collaborative learning
capitalize on one another’s resources
and skills.
More specifically, collaborative
learning is based on the model that
knowledge can be created within a
population where members actively
interact by sharing experiences and
take on asymmetry roles.
10. Cooperative Learning
Also know as collaborative or group
learning.
Five Elements
1. A common goal
2. Interdependence
3. Interaction
4. Individual Accountability
5. Social Skills
11. FOUR IT BASED PROJECT

12. Levels of Technology
Integration
1. Simple Integration
No significance changes in teaching
learning process.
2. Mid Level Integration
Supports key Learning areas.
3. High Level Integration
Technology is the center of integration.
14. Learning Technology has the potential to
bring improved learning opportunities to a
larger audience than has ever previously
been possible. It is able to support a more
active learning experience through a high
degree of learner involvement, thus
promoting a deeper understanding.
15.
16. Technology is everywhere, It almost part
of our daily life. It affects how we shop,
socialize, connect, play, and most
importantly learn. With their great and
increasing presence in our lives it only
makes sense to have mobile technology in
the classroom.
17. It gives students the chance to interact
with their classmates more by
encouraging collaboration.
18. Technology helps the teachers prepare
students for the real world environment.
As our nation becomes increasingly
more technology-dependent, it becomes
even more necessary that to be
successful citizens, students must learn
to be tech.
Integrating technology in education
everyday helps students stay engaged.
Today’s students love technology so they
are sure to be interested in learning if
they can use the tools they love.
19. With technology, the classroom is a
happier place. Students are excited
about being able to use technology and
therefore are more apt to learn.
Students become more responsible.
Technology helps students take more
control over their own learning. They
learn how to make their own decisions
and actually think for themselves.
20. The traditional passive learning mold is
broken. With technology in the classroom
the teacher becomes the encourager,
adviser, and coach.
Student can have access to digital
textbooks that are constantly updated and
often more vivid, helpful, creative, and a
lot cheaper than those old heavy books.
21.
22. There is disconnect between the way
students live and the way they learn, and
student engagement ultimately suffers.
Closing this gap is a challenge for our current
school systems.
23. Education is a life long process
therefore anytime anywhere access to
it is the need.
24. Education should meet the needs of
variety of learners and therefore
technology is important in meeting this
need.
