2.  Concept of deen:
Religion deals man relations with God whereas Deen
deals man relation with God and fellow being.
 Deen cover all aspect of life, Islam is not only a religion
but in the form of deen.
 According to Dr. khaleefa abdul hakeem:
“Islam means peace and as well as submission, the
purpose of life is to live it well”.

3.  Deen provide guidance to mankind.
“Surely this Quran guides to that which is most right” (5:17)
 Deen provides a clear path.
“There has come to you from Allah a new light and manifest
book”. (5:17)
 Deen leads mankind from darkness to light.
“He is the one who sent to his servants manifest signs which
he may leads to from depth of darkness into light” (57:9)
 Divine religion is the source of wisdom and knowledge.
“Yaseen, by the Quran full of wisdom”. (4:113)

4.  Deen sets criteria for right and wrong.
 Deen is spiritual cure of modern and man.
 Teaching of Deen is guard against evil.
 Deen provides a clear message to mankind.
 Deen induces in man piety and remembrance of God.
 Deen provide principles for establishment of justice.

5.  Dr. Israr Ahmed:
“Deen and Mazhab are entirely different”.
1. we must refer Islam as Deen.
2. Word mazhab has never once been used in the
Quran and Hadith.
3. Instead the word that has always been used for Islam
in the original sources in Deen.

6. Mazhab/religion.
1. Set of beliefs and
rituals of worship.
2. Articles of beliefs,
spirituality, etiquettes
of worship salat, roza,
hajj and zakat.
1. Deen is entire way of
religion that pervades all
aspects of life.
2. Deen is element of
complete way of life.
(Gods sovereignty,
submission to God, the
complete system under
the sovereign, the reward
and punishment.)

7. Mazhab or religion
3. Mazhab is complete rule,
customs, conventions
largely been divergent,
regional temporary. Every
prophet while proclaiming
the same deen had to
adopt different mazhab in
order to meet the demand
of that particular time.
3. Fundamental
conception of man about
creator and creature.

8.  Several religion can coexist but there can only single Deen.
 There cannot be two parallel system but there can be
several religions.
 Religion does not afford us any objective criterion by which
we could determine whether or not our action are
producing the desired result whereas in Deen a social order
governed, the development of collective and harmonious
life correctly indicate whether or not the people are
pursuing the right course.

9.  Book by Mirza Tahir Ahmed:
A universal religion, (Quran present the concept of entire
universe and not merely the God of Arabs or the Muslims).
 Difference and contradiction amongst faiths and their
reality, Quran says;
“ They pervert the words from their proper places and have
forgotten a good part of that with which they were
exhorted”.
 An eternal religion. (we have chosen for you Islam as a
religion)

10.  Safeguard of Holy Quran.
Noldeke says,” slight clerical error there may have been but
the Holy Quran of Othman contains none but genuine
elements those sometime in very strange order. The efforts
of European scholars to prove the existence of later
interpolations in the holy Quran have failed”.
 Complete religion.
 Zakat versus interest.
Islam condemns the institution of interest while the motive
force it present in place of interest to move the economic
wheel is called Zakat.

11.  Directions in political matters.
Holy Quran says that a government is duty bound to
protect the honor life and property of its people, a
ruler must always act with justice between individual
and people.
• Islamic principles of justice. (and when you judge
people do so fairly and justly).
• A religion of peace.
