I am currently working as a Mobile Digital Champion having recently retired from the Police after
20 years service,
I am an enthusiastic, self-motivated, reliable, responsible and hard working person. I am a
mature team worker; flexible and adaptable to all challenging and changing situations. I am a
good communicator with proven interpersonal skills, and am able to work well both in a team
environment as well as using my own initiative. I am able to work under pressure and adhere to
strict deadlines. My career has been customer focussed and involved dealing with members of
the Public from very diverse backgrounds, on many different levels, using a high level of
cognitive skills to enable complex problem solving. I have continued learning and improving my
knowledge by completing work related courses throughout my career.
Career History:
Citizens Online – Mobile Digital Champion
November 2016 – Present
I deliver basic IT sessions at libraries around the City. I attend Job clubs at various locations
around the City assisting with IT issues, Universal Jobmatch, and CV composition. I also help
customers of Plymouth City Council complete online applications in the First Stop Shop. All my
work is community and customer focused to help ensure nobody is digitally excluded and
everyone is given equal opportunities.
Support training sessions others partners are delivering and deliver basic coaching one to one
Identify and promote relevant digital inclusion activities in the area. Assist with the roll out of new
projects and activities focused on digital inclusion.
Devon & Cornwall Police - Detective Constable
January 1996 – July 2015 – Retirement
Public Protection Unit – 2006-2015
Dealing with safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
6 years on the Child Exploitation Unit; two commendations awarded for my work.
Working with other agencies involved in safeguarding and working together to protect
and help missing children. Including Children’s Social Care, Barnardo’s, NSPCC,
Plymouth Youth Services, and the Health and Education department.
Investigating online offences which involved Forensic examination of computers and
interrogation of all Social Media platforms.
General CID – 2005-2006
All aspects of police work including investigation of serious and complex cases and
presenting cases at Crown Court.
Special Operations Group – 2002-2005
Supporting the Force in relation to Public Order, Drugs and other Warrants, VIP visits
and searches.
