I am an experienced pilot with skills and experience in many facets of
aviation. A qualified Adult teacher (City and Guilds 7307 level 2) and Crmi,
A Boeing 757 & Airbus 320/1 Technical instructor for Thomas Cook
Airlines. I have well developed teaching and supervisory skills.
Career Summary and Achievements
A career in the Royal Air Force which included a Technical Apprenticeship,
training as a Flight Engineer, managing personnel and instructing.
Achieved the rank of Master Engineer. A year teaching Technical subjects
at Oxford Air Training School. Flight Engineer flying L1011 Aircraft for
Caledonian Airways. Selected and sponsored through Pilot Training by
Caledonian Airways. Currently flying Airbus A321 for Thomas Cook Airlines.
2000-Present, Pilot, Thomas Cook Airlines.
Senior First Officer recently converted to Airbus 321 (June) with 14 years
previously flying the Boeing 757
1997-2000 Flight Engineer L1011 Tristar. Trained at British Airways
Training School, Cranebank. Flying both long and short haul flights for
Caledonian Airways.
2. 1996-1997 Teacher of Aircraft Technology. Employed by CSE Aviation at
Oxford Airport. Teaching the technical subjects required by prospective
Pilots to undertake the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Examinations.
Responsible for creating lesson plans for related subjects and student
welfare.
1995-1996 RAF Air to Air Refuelling Instructor. Responsible for
organising and supervising the Air to Air Refuelling School (AAR) at RAF
Brize Norton. Teaching all aspects of AAR operations and techniques to
RAF Aircrew. Included in-depth instruction on all aspects of AAR
equipment.
1990-1995 Deputy Flight Engineer Leader. Achieved above average
category with VIP endorsement flying VC10 C Mk 1/C Mk 1k aircraft.
Instructed Flight Engineers both in the air and on the ground.
Responsible for counselling of staff and liaison at all levels which was an
inherent part of the job.
1986-1990 Leader of Three Man Teams. Served on a Military Liaison
Mission in East Germany (Brixmis). Autonomously led three man teams
touring East Germany.
1978-1986 Flight Engineer. Flew C130 and VC10 aircraft. Included a nine
month period as staff on the Empire Test Pilot School monitoring and
assisting student Test Pilots of various nationalities.
1969-1978. Airframe Technician. Various interesting positions (including
overseas) as a ground tradesman. I was responsible for co-ordinating and
