To
Whom
It
May
Concern,
It
is
my
pleasure
to
recommend
Miss
Pham
Minh
Trang,
who
goes
by
Trang,
for
a
career
opportunity
at
your
organization.
Since
July
2014,
Trang
has
worked
as
a
research
assistant
(RA)
in
my
research
project
“Is
‘Free’
A
Special
Price
for
Morning
Commuters”.
This
project
is
a
field
experiment
conducted
in
Singapore’s
subway
system.
The
objective
is
to
test
the
effectiveness
of
the
“Travel
Early,
Travel
Free”
campaign
initiated
by
the
Land
Transport
Authority.
Among
all
the
RAs
that
I
hired
for
this
project,
Trang
is
the
one
who
I
relied
on
most.
She
made
a
very
positive
impression
during
her
interview,
striking
me
as
a
person
who
would
never
shy
away
from
duties
and
responsibilities.
Hence,
she
was
deeply
involved
in
the
project
from
day
one.
At
this
early
stage,
my
research
team
needed
to
recruit
over
1,500
commuters
during
morning
peak
time
from
three
subway
stations.
Trang’s
help
was
instrumental
for
us
to
hit
the
target.
She
practically
took
care
all
the
logistic
arrangement
for
the
recruitment,
from
designing
and
printing
information
pamphlets
to
assembling
recruitment
teams.
She
was
quick
in
execution:
Almost
always
did
she
complete
her
tasks
well
before
the
deadlines,
buying
valuable
time
for
the
project’s
progress.
She
also
led
a
recruitment
team
to
the
HarbourFront
station
herself.
The
recruitment
results
from
her
station
were
outstanding.
Being
a
good
assistant,
Trang
is
however
definitely
not
one
of
those
who
only
know
to
follow
orders.
Throughout
the
recruitment
process,
she
showed
genuine
interests
in
knowing
more
details
of
the
study
by
asking
insightful
questions.
This
is
extraordinary
given
her
position,
because
most
of
the
time
RAs
simply
carry
out
what
is
told
without
asking.
I
would
however
welcome
such
curiosity
because
it
helps
to
integrate
her
deeper
into
the
project.
By
the
end
of
her
appointment,
she
has
gained
a
panorama
view
of
the
project,
although
she
had
always
been
confined
to
particular
assignments.
I
see
this
as
her
leadership
quality.
For
this
reason,
I
later
entrusted
her
with
the
important
tasks
of
composing
the
interim
and
the
final
reports.
2. In
this
project,
I
also
have
four
other
RAs
hired
from
NUS.
Among
them,
I
would
certainly
rank
Trang
as
the
best
of
all.
Based
on
her
performances,
I
gladly
extended
her
appointment
by
another
semester.
I
wish
to
point
out
that
she
also
has
a
pleasant
personality
and
has
always
collaborated
extremely
well
with
her
fellow
RAs.
I
believe
that
you
will
enjoy
working
with
her
as
much
as
I
have.
If
you
have
any
further
questions
on
this
recommendation,
please
do
not
hesitate
to
let
me
know.
