locations nationwide – banded together with the Wireless Zone
Foundation for Giving® and FeedingAmerica in a ‘Food Chain’ – a
social responsibility movement to end hunger within our
communities.OnTheWireless Zone® Day of Giving(November
8th,2015) StoreOwners,SalesAssociates,Managers,andMembers
of the Wireless Zone® Corporate headquarters proudly donned
theirFoodChainT-shirtsandlinkedtogetherwithFeedingAmerica’s
network of food bank distribution centers to handleover 16,000
lbs of food (approximately 13,000 meals)for people in
need.Stores and staff raised funds,hosted food drives and
volunteered at distribution centers on the Wireless Zone® Day
of Giving to make a positive impact in the communities we serve,
sharing the goodwill on social media with #LinkToEndHunger.
The campaign’s Food Chain logo design plays off the
concept of a food chain; we all need food to live and by linking
together we made an impact for those in need.The purpose
of this movement was to form unity within our system and
strenghthen relationships within our local communities.
The smiley face design with a sausage link smile was the ‘face’
of the campaign’s social movement to bring positive interactions
online using #LinkToEndHunger and represent the happiness
shared in giving and receiving the food and donations.
The campaign tagline ‘Be The Link To End Hunger In Your
Community’ helped customers and staff alike identify with the
cause and want to get involved.The campaign was successful
in that it raised awareness, compassion and action within the
communities we serve.

Food Drive 2015
T-shirts were provided to all Wireless Zone®
staff system-wide to
further encourage involvement and unify the campaign.Teams
wore the shirts and took photos of their arms linked together,
while some teams working at food distribution centers created
a human chain to pass boxes loaded with food to move large
quantities quickly.
A brochure was released to kick off the project and unify the
system.A simple list of ways to get involved were distributed to
show how easy it is to participate.

We will be delivering tee
shirts to every employee
AT NO CHARGE.
The video projected on all in-store monitors and shared on store
social media brought awareness to the effort and encouraged
customer’s involvement.

A series of emails encouraging stores to participate were
developed with guides to meet the challenge of demonstrating
how to leverage their involvement on social media.

DAYOFGIVING —11.18.15 Sharing is Fun & Easy!
Together we can make a difference.
Hashtag is a word or phrase preceded by a hash or pound
sign (#) and used to identify messages on a specific topic. When
used on social media, the hashtag is used to draw attention, to
organize, and to promote!
This campaign’s hashtag is #LinkToEndHunger be sure to
include it as a caption on all your Day of Giving Facebook posts!
If you have a specific food bank you will be donating to and
they have a Facebook page, you can even tag them in your post
to increase your reach!

Steps:
1. Be sure to ‘like’ the
foodbank/organization
on facebook
2. On your store’s Facebook post, type the @ symbol to begin searching for the organization
you’re supporting. Once you find the organization, select them to tag them!

Start a fundraiser to make a donation to
your local food bank and help children
and families facing hunger.
Collect Food
1. Locate the food bank in your local community (the list of food banks
and contact information is sortable by store).
2. Create a section in your store to collect donations. Use the Box
Sign to decorate the boxes or bags to collect food donations
3. Promote your food drive
• Print Bag Stuffers and give to all of your customers
• Distribute Flyers in your community
• Use the Press release template and send to your local media
4. On the "Day of Giving," have your team deliver your donations to
the food bank. Don’t forget to wear your Day of Giving t-shirts, take
pictures and share!
Donate Funds
1. Day of Giving SKU
• SKU Name: Day of Giving
2. Collect Money
• We recommend a “round up” collection where patrons donate an
amount that rounds their bill up to the next whole dollar
3. Donate
• Food banks will buy perishables and other needed items with your
donation.
• They receive discounts and have better buying power.
4. On the Day of giving have your team deliver your donations to the
food bank. Don’t forget to wear your Day of Giving t-shirts, take
pictures and share!

1. Contact your local Food Bank for opportunities
• Contact the place you’d like to volunteer as soon as you can -
spots fill quickly!
2. How to prepare
• Decide who will volunteer and when
• Find out the needs of the Food Bank. It is usually in a distribution
warehouse.
3. Volunteer
• On the Day of Giving have your team volunteer. Don’t forget to
wear your Day of Giving t-shirts, take pictures and share!

content of staff and customers sharing their participation on
social media such as pictures or statuses with the hashtag
#LinkToEndHunger.This showcased a live feed of the social
responsibility movement, further unifying the system and
spreading the goodwill of Wireless Zone® and the Food
Chain #LinkToEndHunger campaign.

Connecting People Teamwork Community Food Drive 2015 #LinkToEndHunger Wireless Zone®– aVerizonAuthorized Retailer of 380+ store locations nationwide – banded together with the Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving® and FeedingAmerica in a ‘Food Chain’ – a social responsibility movement to end hunger within our communities.OnTheWireless Zone® Day of Giving(November 8th,2015) StoreOwners,SalesAssociates,Managers,andMembers of the Wireless Zone® Corporate headquarters proudly donned theirFoodChainT-shirtsandlinkedtogetherwithFeedingAmerica’s network of food bank distribution centers to handleover 16,000 lbs of food (approximately 13,000 meals)for people in need.Stores and staff raised funds,hosted food drives and volunteered at distribution centers on the Wireless Zone® Day of Giving to make a positive impact in the communities we serve, sharing the goodwill on social media with #LinkToEndHunger. The campaign’s Food Chain logo design plays off the concept of a food chain; we all need food to live and by linking together we made an impact for those in need.The purpose of this movement was to form unity within our system and strenghthen relationships within our local communities. The smiley face design with a sausage link smile was the ‘face’ of the campaign’s social movement to bring positive interactions online using #LinkToEndHunger and represent the happiness shared in giving and receiving the food and donations. The campaign tagline ‘Be The Link To End Hunger In Your Community’ helped customers and staff alike identify with the cause and want to get involved.The campaign was successful in that it raised awareness, compassion and action within the communities we serve. Connecting People Teamwork Community Food Drive 2015 T-shirts were provided to all Wireless Zone® staff system-wide to further encourage involvement and unify the campaign.Teams wore the shirts and took photos of their arms linked together, while some teams working at food distribution centers created a human chain to pass boxes loaded with food to move large quantities quickly.
  • 4. A brochure was released to kick off the project and unify the system.A simple list of ways to get involved were distributed to show how easy it is to participate.   • 6. A series of emails encouraging stores to participate were developed with guides to meet the challenge of demonstrating how to leverage their involvement on social media. Connecting People Teamwork Community Food Drive 2015 DAYOFGIVING —11.18.15 Sharing is Fun & Easy! Together we can make a difference. Hashtag is a word or phrase preceded by a hash or pound sign (#) and used to identify messages on a specific topic. When used on social media, the hashtag is used to draw attention, to organize, and to promote! This campaign’s hashtag is #LinkToEndHunger be sure to include it as a caption on all your Day of Giving Facebook posts! If you have a specific food bank you will be donating to and they have a Facebook page, you can even tag them in your post to increase your reach! Get Linked: Social Media Guide How do I tag a food bank?2 What’s a hashtag? 1 Steps: 1. Be sure to ‘like’ the foodbank/organization on facebook 2. On your store’s Facebook post, type the @ symbol to begin searching for the organization you’re supporting. Once you find the organization, select them to tag them! DAYOFGIVING —11.18.15 Have a Food Drive 1 Help your neighbors in need by collecting food. Raise Funds 2 Start a fundraiser to make a donation to your local food bank and help children and families facing hunger. Collect Food 1. Locate the food bank in your local community (the list of food banks and contact information is sortable by store). 2. Create a section in your store to collect donations. Use the Box Sign to decorate the boxes or bags to collect food donations 3. Promote your food drive • Print Bag Stuffers and give to all of your customers • Distribute Flyers in your community • Use the Press release template and send to your local media 4. On the "Day of Giving," have your team deliver your donations to the food bank. Don’t forget to wear your Day of Giving t-shirts, take pictures and share! Donate Funds 1. Day of Giving SKU • SKU Name: Day of Giving 2. Collect Money • We recommend a “round up” collection where patrons donate an amount that rounds their bill up to the next whole dollar 3.
