ConclusionConclusion and Future PlansFuture Plans
● We have seen many differencesdifferences as well as similaritiessimilarities between BanglaBangla & SylhetiSylheti. Some
of the differencesdifferences were significant.
● Existence of SylhetiSylheti script
● Differences in grammar :
– GenderGender in pronoun
– LexiconLexicon difference
etc make SylhetiSylheti unintelligeble to the BanglaBangla and other dialect speakers and makes it
clear that SylhetiSylheti is a language in its own right.
● This work is the first comprehensive study of SylhetiSylheti grammar compared to that of
BanglaBangla that we would like to publish as a book soon.
● I have found new interesting features in SylhetiSylheti like gendergender, intonationintonation etc that I have
barely touched but will include in the future work in details.
● I will work towards building the complete grammar of this neglected language.
