ASSERTIVE SENTENCE: - A sentence which asserts
something is called assertive sentence.
e.g.:- He is a boy.

They do their work themselves.
He taught me Urdu.

It is written in all tenses.
It ends with a full stop (.).
IMPERATIVE SENTENCE: - A sentence which
expresses order, command, suggestion or advice is
called an imperative sentence.
e.g.:- Open the door.
Stand up.
Sing a song.
Help the poor.

It starts with main verb/finite verb.
Its subject (you) is understood.
It is written in present indefinite tense only.

INTERROGATIVE SENTENCE: - A sentence which
interrogates is called an interrogative sentence.
e.g.:- Do you know English?
Are you preparing for examination?
What is your name?

It ends with notes of interrogation (?).
OPTATIVE SENTENCE: - A sentence which
expresses wish or desire is called an optative
sentence.
e.g. - May you live long!
May god help you!

It is written in present indefinite tense only.
MAY+SUB+INFINITIVE (without to) + (!)
EXCLAMATORY SENTENCE: - A sentence which
expresses sudden feeling or emotion of the heart is
called exclamatory sentence.
e.g.:-Hurrah! We won the match.
