This is a short power point presentation made for primary classes that tells about proteins, signs of protein deficiency, foods rich in proteins, plus, a protein-related fact at the end. Hope this is helpful.
2. WHAT ARE PROTEINS?
Proteins are required for growth
and repairing of the tissues in
our body. They provide us energy
and help in building new tissues,
hormones and enzymes. They
serve as a fuel source for cells
and tissues when needed.
3. PROTEIN DEFICIENCY
Protein deficiency is when
people do not get enough
amounts of protein from their
diet. Protein deficiency may
cause diseases like kwashiorkor,
marasmus, swelling, slow
growth, fatty liver, skin damage,
discolouration of hair and more
infections.
4. FOODS RICH IN PROTEINS
Foods that consist of proteins
include cheese, milk, yogurt,
chicken, lentils, fish, meat, eggs,
nuts and beans.
5. DID YOU KNOW?
Animal food like meat, fish, poultry, eggs and dairy contain more
proteins as compared to the proteins that we get from plants like
vegetables, whole grains, seeds and nuts, Animals’ proteins are good for
the body building as these consist of all essential nutrients. Plant
proteins consist of many essential nutrients. They become more
effective when used together.
