Yardi & Accounting Coordinator January 2006 – Present
I Provide Yardi, accounting and compliance support to multi levels of onsite and corporate staff for a Property
Management portfolio of approximately 158 multifamily communities containing more than 15,500 units. Our
communities range from Conventional to Affordable: Section 8, 202, 236, PRAC, LIHTC, among other financing programs.
I assist the Director of Management Information Systems with software, compliance and accounting related projects,
upgrades, research, implementation and training.
My Essential Duties:
Main point of contact for Yardi Software Solutions, Affordable Housing Compliance, Resident Screening, Accounting and
other software related items:
• Manage Yardi Help Desk: Update, correct and post HUD repayment agreements. Research and correct tenant
ledgers, Utility Allowance payouts, move out processing, transfers, zero receipts, write-offs, etc. Research and
correct delinquency reports and other miscellaneous accounting reports to insure accurate financial statement
reporting. Troubleshoot issues with general Yardi functions.
• Supervise Help Desk employee(s).
• Manage Yardi Setup: Add/remove employee access. Add/remove system access, property lists,
permissions/security for users and adjust settings in Yardi as needed. Setup new menus/roles within
structured Yardi groups. Streamline current Yardi setup and develop new, more user friendly options and
menus. Facilitate system updates and conversions including testing, research and implementation.
• New property setup: Setup property controls and affordable project information, etc. Import affordable data via
baseline Monthly Activity Transmission (MAT) files from prior management or other data import files. Reconcile
data in Yardi to prior management HAP (Housing Assistance Payments) vouchers, rent rolls, delinquency reports,
units, etc.
• Setup, research and train new or changing modules in Yardi including upgrades due to HUD rule changes, i.e.
202D, repayment agreements; outside vendor interfaces; and new modules such as Housing Café.
• Conduct ongoing Yardi training. Assist training department with development of training materials. Write user
guides.
• Assist with portal site setup (RENTcafé) and applicant/resident portals. Including initial site setup, resident portal
payments, applicant portal screening and general troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot and research monthly HAP voucher related issues dealing with voucher postings, rent rolls,
occupancy reports, Tenant Rental Assistance Certification System (TRACS) errors and Monthly Activity
Transmission (MAT) errors. Make any necessary HAP corrections as needed by Occupancy Department or
Contract Administrators for HUD including reversing posted HAP’s, 50059 Certifications, Gross Rent updates and
Miscellaneous Accounting Requests. Post portable voucher and HAP payments.
• Facilitate data exchange with outside agencies and vendors for utility billing, payroll, collections, etc.
• Calculated and reported monthly Excess Income for Section 236 properties (2006-2011).
• Processed and submitted monthly electronic HAP vouchers to TRACS (2006-2007).
• Reconciled central disbursement account for accounting department (2006-2008).
