2. Who are we?
VAPEBUSTER’S goal is to educate the youth about the
harmful effects of vaping through interactive and
memorable experiences.
3. Parents Against Vaping E-cigarettes (Non Profit)
- Three moms founded this organization:
- Dina Alessi
- Meredith Berkman
- Dorian Fuhrman
- This organization is in partnership with public- health nonprofits and anti-tobacco
groups, in addition they are with academic research institutions and medical facilities.
4. Companies History of Vaping
Juul:
- Major producer in the e-cigarette and nicotine industry
- Labeled themselves as a company with an alternative to vaping
Sourin:
- Company that originally intended for a “safer” alternative to smoking cigarettes
- This product failed to complete its company’s major purpose
SMOK:
- One of the oldest and most impactful companies in the vaping industry
- Many companies have begun to use SMOK’s dual coil design that was rarely ever used
5. Research
- Experiment by Dr. David Thickett showed (in 24hrs) cells exposed
to:
- artificial vapor = damaged
- vapor with nicotine= significant increase in damage
- Cells more exposed to vape were deficient in ability to defend
against bacteria

7. Incidents
- A Texas man died after his e-cigarette exploded and
the shrapnel had tore through his carotid artery.
- There was a case where 18-year-old hostess at a
restaurant who decided to try using e-cigarettes. The
woman developed a condition called “wet lung”.
8. Solution
- Travel across schools
- Host educated, fun assemblies
- Incorporate and involve students
- Recruit student volunteers
- Collect donations
